Based on some of the other comments this bottle was a very pleasant surprise. Fully Mature Bordeaux, enticing nose, very well balanced, medium to long finish. PNP at La Maz in National City. No need to decant, minimal sediment, still fresh and vibrant. I'd guess it will hold for a few more years but no need to wait. Quite enjoyable overall. Drink up. It should be noted that this bottle had perfect storage for all it's years which may have contributed to its overall quality.

Astringent upon first opening, needed long decanting time. Quite nice, round full bodied after several hours of decant. Would have placed this as a left bank classified bordeaux rather than Haut-Medoc. The best out of a 2001-2003 flight.

Similar to the 2001. Leather, licorice, garrigue, earth, stewed plums. Shorter middle and finish; more leather, licorice, and dark berry flavors on the palate. Has held up well with good storage. Still decent acidity. 13% ABV. Opens up well with short decant. Great QPR.

Disagree with a lot of the posts here. This has held up surprisingly well. Nice satisfying aged Medoc. Decent fruit and a mellow smokiness somehow. All a little on the wane, sure enough, and the finish is short. But overall a pleasant surprise and a mellow, satisfying bottle. I had feared muck but all came out good in the end.

Color, dark red with brown rims showing aging Nose, Lots of fruit, hint of oak, leather, some pepper Taste, follows the nose with earthy notes added last some 20 seconds Structure, first seconds tends to silk but could be better after the first impression there is more to chew on

opened an hour before drinking. Still young, cedar and leather on the nose, initially sharp attack on palate, meaty, well integrated fruit and tannin and a hint of spice. Would probably improve with a couple of years in the cellar.

Colour ruby with brown evolution, dark kernel. Silky reflection. Slow legs, filming. Complex nose, with a very interesting evolution. Dominant scents of stewed red fruit and after waltzing fresh red fruit. Amongst the hints and variations were: strawberry, rosebud, laurel, black olive, pepper, roasted pepper and something dusty like dried fruit peel and bark. Taste is not (yet) as interesting as the nose would suggest. However, there was clearly strawberry, pepper and grafite, also some sour plum already and hints of secondary flavours. Taste pattern definitely needs more time to unfold its full potential. Yet bitters are already well integrated (bit granular and drying), and aftertaste has considerable length (noteworthy because of the persistent fruitiness on well structured drying tannins). Very good and fair. Give it some five more years and it will do even better.

Nothing wrong with the bottle, this is just really bad. What fruit there was has faded into a weak, sour sludgy mess, browning at the edges.
Horrible.
