  • Beautiful and smooth Burgundian red. Floral, spicy nose with rich fruit flavors and a slightly tart (and full) finish. This generic red Burgundy comes from vineyards throghout the Cote d'Or, and is very expressive of the many styles of these northern appelations. The fruitiness was more pronounced when the wine was first chilled and served, although the fruit flavors and tannins opened up as the wine came back to room temperature. Served with grilled, spice-rubbed chicken, mixed greens and fire-roasted corn - a pleasant pairing. Would highly recommend as an inexpensive ($20) red burgundy. The 2002 will probably be even better.
