Smoky nose, with undertones of forest floor, somewhat aggressive and cough-syrupy. Bright red cherry fruit and lots of acid. Tough wine to like right now. Much more on the rustic side of wines, and in a pretty awkward stage right now.

Dark garnet with purple hues and medium viscosity in the glass. Nose of pomegranate, earth, black fruit, pine needles, black tea and pepper. Medium body and ripe with black fruit, cranberry, earth and spice on the palate. Balanced, structured and textured. The earth and dusty tannin play nicely off each other. Nebbiolo is evident and composed. Medium finish.

After tasting the 2011 LCF, I was worried that the unique characteristics of the wine might be lost in a "bigger" vintage. I shouldn't have been concerned. This wine might be >14% abv, but it still has all the character of a 2011. That actually makes it a bit dangerous, as this does not taste like a wine with that much alc. Very tasty. Very fun. Very LCF.

Nebbiolo nose backed by a berry compote. Well integrated and balanced. Med finish. Paired excellently with a less spicey lamb biryani.

Light, tasty, and balanced. Sort of amazing how it is able to be this light and yet completely hide the 14.2%.

Nice blend, on the lighter side these days, drinking well still.

Not much to say except that this is a very nicely balanced easy to drink bottle of wine at a good price.
