Delicious red cherry and raspberries on the nose and palate with wonderful mouthfeel and acidity on the long finish. Paired beautifully with Greek lemon chicken.

Christmas & New Year 2013; 12/20/2013-1/1/2014: Dark cherry fruit on June nose with a slightly kirschy element. With time the kirsch subsides to reveal lighter cherry fruit in a very rounded and quite plush frame. Similar on palate. Dark cherry fruit and a little spice. The initial kirsch element with its consequent slightly hot finish evaporates to leave a far smoother, quite plush and really quite long finish after an hour or so. Lots of interest here and quite stylishly done. It's not burgundy, but it is quite refined and nicely structured. ****

At age eight, this one has developed a sense of itself. I'd say that it's better at 5 minutes than at 20 minutes, but at 20, the nose is femininely fragrant, the mouth is sauvely round, and the length is lusciously long. The whole picture is very brushy with a nice fruit background but not in an "old" sort of brushy style, but in a style that says "this is what I am." I'd like a bit more fill in the middle of the wine, a bit more brush in the nose, and a bit more complexity in the fruit, but we always complain about that which we love, right? I found it to be quite compelling. Very nice.

Really enjoyed Littorai's One Acre over the years, but the Savoy of late seems much more ripe to me. Not quite KB territory, but really not much acid and pretty "routine" flavor profile. Liked it a little better on release.

Popped and poured. Complex nose of forest floor, cherries, with a definite herbal note. On the palate, wonderful fruit but a very unusually complex palate reflecting the nose with great depth - much more forest floor and herbs than fruity, although it has very significant depth. Much better integrated and less "clumsy" than some vintages of Savoy I've had previously. In the context of other Littorai bottlings this is on the more intense side. This could develop additional complexity but is drinking very well.

nice black cherry, pomegranate and spice with a nice acidity that makes this a big friend of food. Held up for 4+ days after being recorked and was better for the rest.

some mild forest floor/mushroom and dark fruit. a pinot that is just on the right side of the fence for me with regards to power. not for the feint of heart.

Dark in color with crimson tones. Raspberries and more raspberries from nose to mouth. Layers of fruit flavors with a perfume quality. A lovely wine that will continue to improve in the bottle. This wine is a poster child for Anderson Valley pinot.

4th of July Blowout (Chez Rick): The only Pinot I really liked in last night's lineup. Great laser focused fruit with layers of complexity. Awesome freshness. Can't say enough good things about this wine.

Open with big cherry flavors and a bit of spice and earth. Acidity kept the flavor lingering. Nose opened over an hour with cherries and violets. In a good place now, but will add some complexity over the next 3-5 years. Drink or hold.

Low-level TCA meant that this was stripped of fruit and beauty. The body, balance and structure are still discernibly superb on the finish. Must find more.....

Last sip taken at the 5 hour mark. Opens full, but closes up for a while. Begins to reopen at about the 2-3 hour mark. The wine is quite subtle, with a decent nose, a full round mouth that's more structure than fruit right now (though the fruit does come through) and a fine length - the length is the best part, but still qutie primary, with sappy, spicy, slightly tart plum and a bit of dirt in it.
This is a young wine, and could probably use some time to come out of its protective shell. Could be very fine, but right now, it's only "good".
Try next in 2010 - or later, with only 2 bottles remaining.

Nice deep ruby/garnet. A touch pinkish on the rim still. Quite wild and spicy on the nose : seems velvety and layered. Floral - perhaps even rose - touches, and a lovely tarry depth to it. Lovely supple, richly fruited, mouth entry. Succulent cherry fruit and delicate layers of earthy and spicy flavours. Mid-palate is superbly structured and balanced. Finish is long and completely satisfying. A magnificent though slightly reserved wine. ****

not decanted. clear purple. Raging purple plum and silky/velvet mouthfeel at first. as it opened a complexity crept up and unveiled a earthy spice component. the finish was great.
the mouthfeel of this wine deserves special commment. it was plush like velvet but remaided silky the whoel way through. more satin-like. fabulous.

Drank over a two hour period at restaurant. Never did show much of anything on the nose. Initial spice and dark fruits on the palate. Served a bit too warm and alcohol hotness was quite noticeable. Chilled down a bit (~60 degrees), it was better but still not outstanding. Perhaps I drank it too young. It clearly needs time to come together. Interesting that I saw a 2001 or 2002 TN that mentioned shyness on the nose.
