Roland's birthday party (Bilthoven): Tasting, brief note. Glossy black fruit, modern style but no noticeable oak, no excessive weight in spite of its 15% ABV, but on the finish the fruit does have a roasted quality.

Nose: spicey black pepper, dark cocoa powder, dried fruit, but not a fruity nose, Pallet: raisin, date, not too concentrated though, not a fruit bomb. Medium to heavy. Cherry pie, but not overwhelming. Rich tannins, medium length. Subtle vanilla. EUR 7 at Costco. Above average for this price I think.

Medium nose is a little brooding, spice, red/black fruit and earth. Palate interesting, fresh earth, licorice, pepper, blackberry, acidity med plus, nice QPR.

Grenache/Cab Sauv/Syrah/Merlot/Carinena/Cab Franc 34/25/12/12/12/5. Nose is nice fruit, bright red and black notes, fresh roses, light pepper. Palate pepper shows more, again with red and black fruit, slight sweetness on the short finish. Tasty, quick.

Deep black sweet ripe fruit on the nose, with dark profile, plums and very full, with oak notes and heavy spices present. On the pate this shows way too much sweetness, and to ripe and full bodied at this point. It hides some of the alcohol heat, but it’s completely missing balance and any transparency. A big, dark, sweet, oaky and clumsy, heavy wine, with some alcohol heat present underneath the somewhat messy fruitiness and sticky sweetness . I don’t expect this to become any better with cellar time, since it’s just not neither good, nor complex enough from the beginning.

This is not bad at all! Very "Southern France" on the nose with some cherries, bay leaves, oregano and yellow plums. But dominating is a buttery, popcorn, butterscotch aroma. Good acidity, but round with pleasant tannins and a full body. Not overly fruity, but the alcohol makes it kinda sweetish. Speaking of the alcohol, it hides it 15% very well. Decent length and intensity. Lots of wine for 140SEK (15€).

Nice expression of Priorat and a good value. Rich and spicy on the palate, the wine is a rich expression of fruit and soft oak. Recommended.

A great wine for its price. One of my favourites so far. Needs about 30 minute in the glass. Taste of ripe berries, chocolate pepparmint.

Nose of plums, pencil shavings and earth, palate with hints of dark berries, soft tannins and oak. Good for the price.
