Essence of pencil shavings, dried figs, peppercorns and bing cherries. Layers of ripe figs, blueberries, toast, licorice and loam. Wonderfully long finish.

Drank over three hours and the flavors evolved and improved over time. Great essence of cedar, blueberries, currant, cigar box and tar. Layers of dried figs, currants, bing cherries and ripe figs. Wonderful mouthfeel and a long finish.

Deep dark purple color. Nose consists of cassis, pencil shavings, toast, black cherries, figs and licorice. Layers of black cherries, dried figs, mint, licorice and raisins. Terrific mouthfeel and finish. This was worth the wait.

Enjoyed at Milwaky trace with Sarah paired with beef short rib and steak tartare. Incredible fruit and big berries. Tannins have resolved and velvety long finish - it'll last another 10 years.

Beautiful wine from start to finish. Full of fruit, tannins were supple and refined. We opened it and drank it at a restaurant, we have two more bottles and I think I would decant next time and allow it to open up. Quite delicious.

We thoroughly enjoyed this wine, on on its own, but even more so with our filets. The Sherwin Estate Cab has always be in our wheel house, and this bottle is no exception. It's soft smooth and well integrated. Love the bold inky black and blue fruit on the attack. In the mid-palate, the oak component has started to transform nicely into cedar notes and meld with black pepper. The finish is superb with mostly resolved tannins. based upon this bottle this has a few more years of good drinking, but others have indicated you should drink up.

Haven’t had this wine in quite some time. I let it open for an hour. It was light in body for a cab but still a ton of juice. It wasn’t as soft and smooth and well rounded as I remember. This bottle may have been slightly off with age. Been in a wine fridge for years but something tasted off. I’ll have to scoop up a new bottle soon to compare

9 mos since my last bottle and this has fallen off significantly. Fruit starting to fade so if you like them big (like I prefer) then time to drink up. Still has that distinctive Sherwin flavor profile that I love

This bottle didn't pack the punch that I typically enjoy with my Sherwins. More hot at the palette and less of the velvety texture i typically enjoy from Sherwin.

- Medium forming legs with a long finish - A great Cabernet Sauvignon from Sherwin Family. Rich Spring Mountain fruit, supple tannins and a lingering finish show off the best of this wine.

Pop and pour, followed over 90 mins. This is drinkable but passed its ideal window. Lacking fruit and depth, I got some fine-grained tannin when the wine was first opened but that dissipated within an hour, at which time I picked up raisins and prunes. My wife felt that this was corked from the onset. While I won’t necessarily concur, she does have a more sensitive nose that myself

Balanced wine with plenty of structure for more time in the cellar but drinking really nice right now. Currant and tobacco on the back end. Really nice.

Not as rich as prior bottles, showing some dissipation though still enjoyable, just more bordeaux-like than you find in a Sherwin. Assuming this was an off-bottle

Still fabulous. Decanted for 2 hours. Deep and dark ruby in color. Cassis and tobacco with an enduring finish. Well balanced and integrated. A great wine for wrapping presents. Merry Christmas to me.

Decanted for 1 hr (LOTS of Sediment). This wine is very dark purple, almost black of the glass; couldn't even get the light of my phone flashlight to shine through the wine. The nose was not overly expressive but black currant, back berries, hints of oak and blueberry liquor. The palate was similar in flavor to the nose and very balanced with medium acidity and well integrated sweet tannins. This wine had the typical spring Mtn mouthfeel and slight chalky minerality, but it was surprisingly primary and would have expected it to be a little more complex by now.
I'm not sure it has the structure to evolve long term, so chances are this wine is at its peak.

Previously coravin'd 2 glasses from this; balance of the bottle pop and pour. Really impressive - inky dark color, black fruit, leather, black tea on the nose. Approach is very smooth - driven by mature fruit. Flows over the palate but doesn't coat, leaving a short but enjoyable finish. I think if this was a "fresh" bottle that hadn't been CV'd there might be more structure, but this is a stellar wine with complex fruit. Can't believe this was only $36 - a case was marked down, and I bought it all, sharing some with a great neighbor.

Amazing. Drinking well right now. Got to get more of this. Dense, laser- focussed bright red upfront exploding in dark currant blackberries. Long strong intense finish. Finish is vanilla extract schnapps

Powerful, chewy wine, softening after a decade and a half, but not complex. Serve with robust food to match. Improves on decanting

Wow, just a fantastic Spring Mountain cab. Lots of fruit. A favorite in a lineup of other Napa cabs - Heitz 2004 Martha's Vineyard included.
