Dry style reisling. Goldish-hay colour. Aromas show melons, lime (but not overwhelming), musk with a stoney minerality. Flavours repeat with some green apples and a tanginess. Good acidity, dry. Flavourful on the mouthfeel with a cheek sucking lemony/lime tang … and induces saliva. Getting some peaches on the finish. Fresh feeling overall. Good steely minerality and herbs on the finish. Easy to drink. Best to chill a bit to optimize.

Dry style reisling. Dullish hay colour with a tint of browning and dusty sediment. Aromas show lemon, musk and some melon with a stoney minerality. Flavours repeat with a slight tanginess. Good acidity, dry and still somewhat dullish(?) but flavourful on the mouthfeel. Toss in some ripe but understated peaches. Doesn't jump out at you with freshness but still really easy to drink, not heavy.

A rather unique Niagara Riesling. On the nose musk melon, ripe peaches, vanilla and some woodsy-cedar notes. Some folks may attribute the latter to petrol which it is most definitely not. Some minerality with citrus and persimmon on the palate. Medium long finish with hints of green apple. A pleasant and unique Riesling.

If you're looking for anything typical of an Ontario Riesling move on. This is bone dry, acidic, hints of lemon and lime, and lots of minerality. Nose has vague hints of trademark petrol, and lychee fruit. Lots of complexity and another one from Francois that pushes the envelope of what one might expect.

RFU Annual Meeting (Hansa Theater and Delta Bistro, Hamburg): Our Riesling-aficionado group likes to be introduced to a Riesling from the new world, this one is on the wine list so we give it a try, lacking the stonefruit we all like so much, this one is showing more wet spices, taut, white pepper, somehow exhausting, but ending with some lively supporting acidity, *-**, around 82-83+

Bone dry. Aromas of green apple and wet slate. The palate shows green apple, lemon, slate and herbs. Fairly lengthy acid-driven finish, strong minerals. I see this improving with age.

Vin du Niagara avec un perlant à l'ouverture. Des notes de pommes avec une acidité typique d'un riesling. Le vin possède une bouche longiligne et manque un peu de profondeur. Encore jeune. 86 sur 100.

Friday Night Tasting in Toronto (VinT's Place): It seems that this wine has clarified since I tasted out of barrel as it pours completely clean and transparent. Actually quite light in colour, similar to the previous in that regard. Just like out of barrel I'm finding a very similar high toned candy element that is most prominent that I would describe as something along the lines of: green jolly rancher, lychee and kaffir lime leaf. Still very much lemon/lime driven with an added chalky component. The palate is again, essentially dry with an even higher more tart acid profile.

A Visit to Pearl Morissette (Niagara, Ontario, Canada): (barrel sample) Pours a vary cloudy light yellow. Nose is very exuberant and powerful of green jolly rancher, green apple, lime, slate, candied ginger and a slight hint of lychee. Palate is totally dry, high acid, tart, and fizzles out a bit short on the lemon/lime zest finish.
