Very much in the Clarendon Hills style - big, rich and concentrated. Typical MV shiraz - black fruits, plums, spice, also mint, liquorice and a nice dark perfume. Full bodied, tannins are now well integrated. Smooth and mouth filling. Won't be to everyone's liking. An obvious step up from most other Syrahs in the CH range, Astralis aside.

Supper with Jan group (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point): From magnum. Concentrated black fruits, caramel oak and sweet spice. Very primary nose. And so it proves on the palate, big bold blackberry, caramel oak, tightly textured grippy tannins, this is showing very young but is balanced. Needs more time.

The Piggott is a superbly balanced Shiraz that is drinking at its peak. Amazing length and dark fruit palate. Tannins are fully integrated and there is no sense of warmth from the alcohol. An absolute treasure.

Previous notes were from a Coravined glass at PNP. Opened and given two hours. Fabulous nose of menthol, blackberries, spice, vanilla pipe tobacco. Rich and opulent. Bold. Blackberries, cherry, crisp, soft tannins, and a super long berry filled finish.

Opaque dark purple with medium legs. A dark and brooding nose with blackberry pie, sage, menthol and cigar box. On the palate more blackberries with a residual bit of pepper and cinnamon. The finish had more dark blackberries with sage and an almost brown sugar lie, note at the very end. Did a 3 hour classic decant and the balance here is awesome. Still a very rich wine from a hot vintage, but good and balanced. Drink now through 2025.

Outstanding australian syrah! Deep and inky on the pour. Thick viscosity with sturdy legs. Looks rich right off the bat. Robust aroma showcasing brown sugar, cigar box, dark berries, milk chocolate, and eucalyptus. Impeccable balance and extremely well rounded. Mouthwatering wild berries, pie crust, cassis, clove, and suble chocolate notes on the palate. Drink now. Found two bottles in a bargain bin for $10 each. Later learned the winemaker retails the 2015 vintage for $200. Lucky me!

Solid. Nose is better than palate. Still has some nice fruit, but a bit viscous and syrupy. Tobacco, espresso, chocolate, cigar box. Black raspberry, plum, açai, bramble, touch meaty. Like it, but not floored. Drink up. Clearly a hot year.

Retasted , opened via Coravin , meat spice and mint on the nose. All about blueberries and dark fruits.! Big but not overdone, huge finish. Love the complexity.

Dark purple. Big, rich, complex wine bursting with blueberries, grilled meat, blackberry, mint and nuances of wet stone. Nose was gorgeous ! Removed a glass by Coravin and drink over two hours. Phenomenal wine especially for the price . Probably my favorite of the vineyard designated Syrahs from there.

Blackberry/blueberry, menthol, mint. Dark as motor oil. This is why I love Clarendon Hills. Amazing juice. Best Aussie producer out there IMO.

Somewhat tannic, blueberry/blackberry, grilling herbs, menthol, mint. Loved it. Dark fruit. Classic Clarendon Hills.
