Pinot and Ringer blind tasting - Compared to the 11 and 13 much more lush and round with umami, sous bois and lost a touch of balance moving toward fruit forward over 3 days.

A delicious wine from a banner year, which means ripe fruit and rich texture. Of the four Riservata vertical this showed the lowest acid level. It will hold for several years but should probably be enjoyed by 2022.

Why do I happen to open a bottle of this when sausages are on the menu? This time, duck, wild boar, venison, rabbit, and andouille from d'Atargnan for improvised Easter lunch. This remains very nice, with black cherry flavors on a dry-ish palate, but not much in the way of secondary notes. Rich burgundy color; medium bodied. Just wonderful with the food.

A lovely Pinot that combines tart fruit with a light touch. Cherry red in color, medium in body, and nose of cherry and menthol. Tastes of cranberry, raspberry, and dried strawberry, with a hint of thyme and rosemary on the finish. 14.3% alcohol. This wine over-delivers for the price point, though it is more pretty than profound. Drink in next year or two.

Popped and poured--a mistake! Deep ruby color, medium bodied. Black cherry and spice. Medium long finish. Deliciously ripe, but the wine opened over the course of dinner. Wished we had waited a few more years or had decanted! Paired perfectly with pheasant sausage from Local...

Fruit forward, with excellent raspberry and currant notes. Moderate acidity, little tannin. Drink now, at its peak and isn't built to cellar.

This features the creosote and umami essences common to the 2012 vintage. Lots to it, and delicious now, but unlikely to be an extended agers. 92-93.

Nope, not waiting. Once again, a match made in heaven with Local Butcher's pheasant sausage. Flavors more complex than I appreciated last bottle...
