Pale lemon in the glass. Medium (+) intensity on the nose displaying a ton of citrus and tropical fruit. Slight lees contact tones coming in the form of brioche and cream. A very refreshing and easy-drinking Rizza where the rather expressed acidity highlights the primary fruit nicely. Good intensity on the palate, but lacks depth and length to be much more than an everyday wine.

Plentiful citrus and stone fruit flavours make this very drinkable - although rather reminiscent of iced tea. Lacks the minerality and complexity of its German cousins, though flavour intensity remains strong.

A very pale green colour, expressive nose of lemon and lime. The palate has powerful lime flavours, tons and tons of acidity, a little tight but lots of zip on the mouthwatering finish. the acidity is a little OTT.

Minerals, tons of herbs & some citrus on the nose. The palate shows wet rock, lemon, herbs, and a bit of tropical/stone fruit. Medium acidity and minerals for days. Will drink well for several more years.

Not really drank much Riesling, but I certainly will if they are like this. It has a delicate nose with lots of lime and the palate is lime again, but not in a sauvignon blanc way. Outstanding value of less than 10 quid at majestic wine. I'm a convert 89 points and it certainly has room to grow.

Somms Australia - Riesling Tasting: Bath salts and spice. Really needs time, the acid is not overly sharp but it feels like it will integrate well. Liking the acid profile a bit more on the Clare 2014s vs the Eden Valley.

Tropical and fruity, with some sort of carmel notes that is just really darn intriguing. Almost like it has seen some new oak, which it has not. Lengthy, powerful finish, striking minerality.
"1966 - stick with Riesling, don't move away from it" Notes Tom Barry.
The riesling he chose this is "in Australia a huge part of the portfolio is Riesling. The really interesting fact about Riesling in Clare is that it produces 20% of Aussie's Riesling."
Why Cab and Shiraz right next to one another "the shiraz is on the northern facing slopes and Riesling is the south facing, and the vineyard is 500 meters high, so its all about aspect."
Why not Gewurtz "its really hard to sell... laughter."
"But back to the face - the south facing is very cold because it never gets the sunshine."
Commentatory notes "its really chilly to the Clare at night. I love watching the breezes come up and see a group of American sommeliers freeze their a**es off."

Pale translucent yellow green with watery hue..
Nose: Lemon, lime, sweet apple, wet rock and a slight hint of rich toastiness and honey.. Nice..
Palate: Much of the same on the palate with medium high plus acidity and a nice long finish..

It's lively, fresh, lemon, lime and good acidic streak. Certainly buying more.

Limey fruit, delicately perfumed, with a solid core of chewy acidity. Perfectly balanced already but will reward cellaring. Very nice, excellent value

Aromatisk doft med mycket lime och mineral. Riktigt fin krispig Riesling med hög syra och låg sötma.

fleshy asian white fruit, lime leaf aromas. not as wildly high acid as I was expecting. just a touch of petrol to the aromas.
