Light medium red. Great nose, medium intense, earthy, spicy, red cherry, creme de cassis, and spicy aged oak. Delicious earthy spicy cherry flavours and a long tannic finish.

Wine Club: Spain (Bowling Green, OH): Nice stuff. The group wasn't sold on this one, but I really enjoyed its mellowed structure and slightly medicinal smoothness. Nice age.

Great nose right out of the bottle. Dark fruits, good concentration, medium finish. Decanted, and seemed to fade after3-4 hours. Probably time to drink up.

Stimmel's Market: Spain (Bowling Green, OH): Cloudy brick color. Earthy nose, with a little dark fruit, medicine and lambic sourness. Juicy, medium+ tannins, medium acidity and body. Great balance of oaky age and fruit. $40

Delicious dark, sweet cherry, mineral, cedar flavors, rich, supple, silky texture, great structure and balance. Paired with sea bass on the grill in a caribbean marinade, worked perfectly.

Drank this last night at Jace's. This bottle showed better than any other that I've had. Several were somewhat thin but this bottle has a nice nose of dark fruit. It was medium bodied with concentrated flavors of fruit and a lingering finish. After this bottle, I can see why others scored this in the 90's.

I opened this to pair with pizza. I echo the thoughts of the previous note. The fruit has faded leaving an acidic finish. It tasted good with food but not on on its own. This is no longer or maybe never was worthy of 90+ points. It lacks power.

Good value but a little disappointing in what I was expecting from a Parker 94 point bottle. Nice deep color, nose like toasted beef, taste was acidic fruit. Good with food. What I found missing was the headiness and after taste/glow - that I associate with a mid 90 range wine. Perhaps I'm just not used to the grape or perhaps it is a different alcohol % than I am accustomed to. Very enjoyable but not in that great/near great catetgory - but for $33 perhaps I was expecting too much.

Medium dark red-garnet. Effusive raspberry fruit aromas complemented by stones, very sweet herbs, and a few floral notes. Very juicy-sweet in the mouth, with ever so slightly dried cherry/berry fruit that features admirably persistent sweetness. Tannins sneakily creep up at the end. On the second day, this is tighter on the nose and more dominated by kirsch, but silkier in the mouth. From there this wine started to decline, however, suggesting that it should be drunk up in the next 4-5 years.

I'm liking this a good deal and a fine way to get may occasional fix of carignan. A whiff of toasty oak when first poured that made me think this was a wine to give as an xmas present, but it settles down nicely. Lots of rich, extracted, almost candied sweet grenache but backed up by good acid and structure from a healthy dose of carignan and I assume some other french and spanish varietals. Immensely satisfing to drink and lots of extract and fruit. I don't get the chalkiness of rioja and ribera del duero, but I don't get the over oaked international style of some of the entry level priorats. It's middle of the road to slightly restraine modern but it got gobs of fruit and a fair amount of structure and for less than $30 is a great value. This is a very well made wine and with raw materials are superb. Happy to own.

This wine is from the Costa Brava region of Spain, a blend of mainly old vine grenache (50%) and carignan (35%). Deep ruby with purple hues, and a nice nose of earthy redfruits, pomegranates, iodine and a hint of menthol. The medium-full bodied palate is velvety smooth, full of deep redfruits with slight, ripe tannins on the finish. Mouthfilling, tasty flavours here, and an interesting, well made wine which to my palate hits the A- mark. Ready now, but certainly cellarable too, and should develop more complexity on the way.

Very interesting blend of grapes, dominated by a silky fruity grenache that seems to have its own depth apart from the carignane and cab behind it. A little more time should make this subtle complex menage of tastes refined and silky.

Opaque red, translucent at the very edge only. A nose of dusty cocoa, plum, charred wood and a wisp of vanilla. Medium bodied mineral, pomegranate and herbs with good acid and fine tannins. Fruit plays only a supporting role in this wine. A bit angular but seems to have the stuff to smooth out. 50% Garnacha, 35% Carignan, 5% Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah.

medium dark red with slight purple, but not inky. Great nose that changed quite a bit with air; at first very oaky then after an hour or so, there was some funk I associate with tempranillo to go with the wood.
Some great dark fruit, but not too much, enough structure and acidity to counterbalance it. Very tasty, with a really long finish for this price point (~30 secs).

Wow really surprised by this wine. Great aromas and such pure fruit. Not over the top at all. Medium bodied with no holes. Sweet fine tannins. I would have guessed it more as a Cab if given blind I think. Great wine
