What a joy! The nose of a spatlese. Some wax, honey and flowers. Not completely dry palate. So tasty. Full of ripe tropical fruit. Big and long finish. Great wine!!

Je me rétracte. C'est du très beau Riesling. Puissance et équilibre. La bouche évoque les citrons confits avec une amertume qui procure une belle sensation de longueur. Pas un RQP mais très bon.

Very aromatic nose. Quince, apricot, some melon and a lot of dark minerality. A lot of finesse and madly animating. Slim, with medium acidity, but very aromatic and complex. Not with great length. But one of the big German locations. You can feel it with every sip.

Great German dry Riesling in excellent ripeness. Slim, deep, long, complex. Citrus fruit, vibrant mineral with great integrated, delicate petrol tone. Great and serious style. An all time favorite. Big Stuff.

I was promised a bone-dry, high-acidity wine. I have to say it half-delivered on both fronts. The wine, in off-dry style, did have some of the honeyed/caramel flavors (a few years of age), and did not quite have the mouth-watering, acidic frame into which to place it. The fruit flavors were nice (a bit of peach, a bit of honeysuckle, some floral notes), but ultimately not worth nearly $50.
Burned caramel, a lot of botrytis, however not only the good type. Some yellow fruits, unripe apple. On the palate sour and unripe greenish acidity. Medium structure, short finish.

90 on the nose, 92 in the mouth. A very good second bottle from Schönleber's best vineyard IMHO. I would love to be able to purchase cases and cases of this at winery prices so it could be my house wine - it has a sensational QPR at below 20 euros.
Too bad Werner didn't have any GG Halenberg from 2013 left at the winery either...

My go to Riesling: tropical fruit, citrus, peach, minerals, stone fruit, solid finish. Wining @ Cy

Beau riesling bien sec et bien droit. Par contre, pourquoi payer autant.

Day 4 in the Nahe - Donnhoff/Schafer-Frohlich/Emrich-Schoenleber (Nahe - Germany): For a dry wine, this was showing nice body. Lemons/limes/strawberry on the palate. A really nice wine that had a good floral lift going on too.
