Decanted off light sediment and drunk with my wife over two hours with our tri-tip. Ruby rust color. Nice floral aromatics. Immediately sweet red fruit attack but not raisiny or overly sweet. Very nice. Not a lot of complexity but a very nice drink. Still youthful will go 5 to 8 years at least.

Decanted through an aerator, agree with Michigan dogs, big barnyard/earthy, burnt woody nose, this dissipated slightly after an hour or so. On the palate there was hints of cherry, plums and pomegranate, good balance and in need of being consumed.

This wine really evolved after being open a short time. Started out with the barnyard/earthy profile that I get with a lot of French wines. By the end it was really singing, smooth, flavorful, enjoyable. Drank with Ed, Chuck and Brian.

Yummy. Nice and approachable, ripe of course ('03 vint), yet still structured to last 10 yrs more. Earthy at first wrapped in very ripe red currants, cherries, and spice. Medium-full bodied with soft acids, nice richness with more black fruits, plum and cherry, and dusty tannins that creep up on finish. Just a touch alcoholic on the nose, and even a touch on the palate. Very enjoyable.

Opened not decanted. Blood colored with a little clarity at the edge. On the nose: charcoal, wood, cranberry and a little heat. Starts out with a very dry fruit attack, a drying middle and ends with small portions of dry cherry on the finish. When I first opened this, there was a touch of sweetness and flower petals on the finish which unfortunately disappeared. Hopefully it will return. I've transfered the contents to a decanter to see if it will improve. Fair right now.
Day 2: the wine has calmed down quite a bit after 24 hours sitting in a bottle on the counter. Full, rich, dark fruit on the nose; on the palate: raisiny fruit notes on with spice and a dry finish. Fair to Good.
