This has been one of my favorite chardonnays for a long time (and I am a California Chardonnay fan). The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like vanilla, light toast, mango and papaya. It tastes like mango, papaya and pomegranate. The body is medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. I have had a number of vintages from this winemaker and always been pleased. The wine is delightful as a sipping wine - not too thick and oaky but with a full bodied flavor. It also has plenty of acid to stand up to food and is great paired with seafood dishes whether grilled, buttery, or creamy.

The wine is yellow gold in color with no sediment in the bottle. It smells a bit like grapefruit and melon with a hint of oak. The wine has nice acidity and a medium finish. It feels well rounded in the mouth and appears at its best when served around 50F. This is one of my favorite Cali Chards under $35.

Tasted with a 2013 single vineyard Meursault Burgundy and the 2013 Linden Hardscrabble Chardonnay of similar price points. Obviously, this wine was weightier and more oaky on the finish than the other two wines. A good, older style Napa Chardonnay that works well when you desire that style of wine.

A little tighter than the basic Chard, more complex, but there's still an impression of RS and there's nothing underlying the fruit, it just falls flat.

Ripe apple and pear with an oak influence. Creamy and buttery not the palate. Long vanilla and buttered popcorn finish. Not my style, but I understand why people like it.

Ripe style of chardonnay, extended lees contact, red apple, apple skin, caramel. Nice balance, nice effort.

A very good drinking wine.
Not as big as Surh Luchtel. I liked this one better.
