Classic Loire Cab Franc notes. Enough richness to make this round and drinkable. Light (due to low alcohol) and all the blue fruit and pepper (both peppercorn and bell pepper) notes expected. Does exactly what it should.

Okay, it's not a 95. I don't generally post a score, but I had to counter the mid-80 scores below. This is a beautiful wine! Fresh, pure and energetic. Clean red fruit, slight vegetal note late in the finish. So fun to drink. Still a baby, it will be interesting to see where this goes with time. Too bad the vines are dying.

A very wild aroma, full of berries plus all sorts of herbal and floral components, including a spearmint-like note, and something almost bark-like in the background. Lots of lift and very little density on the palate; the finish is on the short side, which isn't surprising given the vintage. Highly enjoyable nonetheless.

Breton with all the dials turned way down. There's the usual bright dark berried fruit, some earthy funk and green peppery/herbal notes that I usually get from this bottling, but none of the intensity or vibrancy that other vintages have shown. Other vintages of this have been remarkably light on the palate while conveying incredible flavour and depth - this only has the lightness, but feels relatively hollow on the midpalate and leaves me wanting more, with a relatively short finish and little depth.

I love most Breton wines, but this lacked the concentration or the interest of better vintages. Fairly delicate nose on open. Subtle (somewhat thin) palate; light-bodied, with low tannin and medium-plus acidity. Lacking most of the funk and the green pepper that I hope for -- it is there, but faded in the background, diluted. Similarly, the palate isn't "light" as much as it is "thin." This would make for a good--not great--basic Breton at $15 a few years ago, but at nearly $30, this is certainly a pass.

Lean with acidic green leaf, vegetable, green pepper, cedar. Sounds like bad things, but if you like this style it's really wonderful. A lovely, delicate, dry Cab Franc. Iron, mineral. Every sip makes you want another. Very nice stuff.

Fresh, pure and energetic, this outshined both the Baudry and Plouzeau Franc de Pieds (both of which were also great!). Clean red fruit, slight vegetal note late in the finish. So fun to drink.

Good for what it is, think it may start going downhill soon
