Eucalyptus, mushrooms, tobacco, leather, dark fruits, touch of vanilla and oak. Cocoa shows up with some time. Earthy aromas all around. Medium bodied, light acidity at the tail end. Tannins have rounded off nicely.

Black/red color with slight meniscus. On nose, fully mature - plum, ripe cherry, sweet tobacco. On palate, medium+ body, low tannins, medium acidity and medium+ finish (clipped slightly). Flavor profile on palate of black currants, plum and black cherry. At peak but should be good till 2022 at the least. 90-91 range.

Consistent with note from 8/2014. Good balance but more of a modern style which works in Bordeaux given higher acidity profile vs. California.
"Dark black / reddish color. Black currants, charcoal, tobacco, plum on nose. On palate, medium body, high acids, medium+ finish. Blackberry, touch of tobacco and nice tannic grip on palate." 91+ again.

Ripe, maybe in a modern style, maybe a touch of American oak giving it a bit more gumption and power. Definately has oak tannins on it. But not bad for all that.

Importer tasting: The bouquet is still quite locked. On the palate dark forest fruits, some oak, bell pepper, ok acidity and sticky, slightly green tannin. Might improve a bit with a few years of ageing, but for the moment not really a great wine. Wait until 2018.

Dark ruby. Nice nose, you know this is Merlot as soon as you lift the glass. Good forward fruit on the palate, decent tannins provide balance. A bit of heat mid-palate the only distraction with this pleasant drinker. Expect this can hold for a few years. Good QPR.

Again, 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc. More concentrated fruit aromas after the 2010 Blaignan Medoc. Blackberry, Charcoal, some vanilla. Pretty dynamite. This wine continues to over deliver, even in a so so 2012.

Decanted for 1.5 hours and served with pan cooked turkey burgers. Dark black / reddish color. Black currants, charcoal, tobacco, plum on nose. On palate, medium body, high acids, medium+ finish. Great with food or on own. Blackberry, touch of tobacco and nice tannic grip on palate. Very nice. Killer QPR. Weekend wine at mid-week price. Didn't realized I had ordered this until I showed up at the store - I'm glad they kept my order. 91+ Will buy more. Reminds me of the '08 Reignac from Bordeaux.

Merlot / Cabernet Franc blend. Very light. Not much in terms of nose but a good choice with a lighter fare. Not enough chops to stand up to red meat.

Day 4. Dark red fruit aromas. But a balanced and rainwater-laced approach. Really holding together for Day 4.
