More or less everything you want aged brunello to be. Lovely balance of mature fruit, vibrant acidity and gentle bitter cherry stone fruit. A slight stewed note but given the hot vintage this shows what a great producer of classic, long lived and delicate Sangiovese Bruneli is. 92

Mature appearance with a medium garnet core and a medium/wide mahogany rim. Nose shows red cherry, slightly pruney, fig and tea leaf. Full bodied, with red cherry, fig, notes of prune, but good acidity and well integrated, soft tannins on a good length finish. Pretty good but a touch overripe and lacking a bit of focus. Drinking now and maybe for another 3-4 years, but I don't see any point in waiting.

This was pretty good considering the vintage and previous notes. Very evolved but still enough dark fruit, sweetness and tannin to make it interesting. Decanted for a couple of hours but agree with other tasters that it didn't really need it. Paired with Pork Belly day 2 which was good but even better with Panzanella (bread salad) on day 1, seemed to pick up really well with olive oil, garlic and red wine vinegar. May seek out some better vintages of this wine.

- Brick color with slow forming legs. It's lacking fruit with a light/medium body. Leathery texture with a short finish - Sourced from the wine society. Decanted probably too long at 3 hours - would suggest you don't decant at all if you have it still. It's old already, perhaps a reflection of the year. Brick red at the rim, browner even than that perhaps. Leather, farm and no fruit on the mouth.

colour - browning at the edges still with a purple core nose - stewed fruit, baked, even a little oxidised palate - large, soft tannins, rather over-cooked a hot wine from a hot vintage, avoid

I really hoped it will be better, it is a bit stiff, not like the delicious Brunello I know...

Ripe attack, loaded with sweet fruit; showing maturity and some complexity now. Great with veal chop at Tinello.

This seemed over the hill already with all of the fruit gone leaving wood.

Developing nicely. Tobacco, leather notes with blackberry and cherry. Decent finish. Better than I was expecting.
