Two Bottle Vertical at the Lake (Bob and Anita's Place on Lake Wylie): Upon first whiff and taste, you would have thought the '07 was going to the better wine of the two. That changed quickly though upon vigorous swirling in the glass and a good "chewing" of the wine. This wine gives you the impression that there is a blockbuster wine within, but still lurking in the background as it is still too young and too shy to show its full power (or at least that is my hope). Blackberries, currant and nice tannins. Medium plus finish.

Amazing how much better this wine than my last bottle only 4 months ago. 4 Hour decant at cellar temperature this time. Deep dark fruits, cassis, black currants. This wine is big but not over-extracted. More elegant in nature. Great balance. Nice medium long finish. Will be interesting to see where this wine goes from here as I believe it still has upside. Delicious.

Definitely needs a couple more years. The quality fruit was lingering in the background but it could only be coaxed out with an extra vigorous swirling of the glass. But this wine is a little out of balance right now. We were not able to give air ahead of time - but decanted and consumed over a 2 hour period. The last glass was the most promising. I do believe it will improve.

Still too young, but very solid and going to be extraordinary in 5- 8 years, or more.
