Fairly deep ruby black, little sediment. Significant tearing Currant and graphite nose Dark currant flavors with very dry slightly dusty finish. Supposedly an off year, but this particular bottle has a rich feel in an elegant style without noticeable alcohol (despite 14.8%). Very old world feel. I think the window of 2019 - 2024 is too precautionary. This particular bottle seems a bit on the young side.

I passed on a lot of '11 Napa cabs, but I'm glad to have a few of these. Not as powerful as some other vintages, but this is still rich and complex. Drinking beautifully right now, with a velvety mouthfeel and long finish.

Served side by side with the same wine from the 2012 vintage to compare the wine in a cool vintage versus a much warmer one. Opened both bottles and decanted 2 hours before serving. Paired both with short ribs in a cabernet and brandy sauce. I have struggled to enjoy red wines from California from the 2011 vintage and expected the 2012 to be my favorite. Not so, both wines were excellent, but I liked the 2011. Black fruit, mocha and nice acidity.

Winos' excellent adventure in France; 6/22/2017-6/27/2017 (All over France): Since I am sitting next to Mr. and Mrs. Darioush, I get a chance to try it. Expressive nose displaying crushed blackberry, cassis, ink, licorice, green pepper, lead pencil, lavender and mineral. Despite the black fruit profile, there is a hint of green note. Medium concentration, silky and polished, slightly hollow middle, good acidity, still noticeable tannins and a medium to long finish. Due to the vintage, it is not as concentrated and a bit fresher than the highly rated cult cabs. I actually don't mind it and find the wine quite enjoyable.

Decanted for 1.5hrs and drank over 2 nights (w/ argon storage overnight). Typical flavor profile for a high end Cali Cab. Big wine, can age much longer. Not great QPR as looking for something more special at this price point.

Good for a difficult vintage . Maybe on its way down, getting quite mild now.

2011 was a terrible year and this wine is less than impressive

Great color with a nice nose but a very disappointing pallet. Tasted better younger as this wine has not matured well. Disappointing and over rated

Decanted for an hour. Bold, but incredibly smooth. Very dark berry flavors.
