Bright red purple in the glass. Big nose of blackberry cobbler and black rubber; echoed on the palate with raspberry undertones. Full body with medium tannins and medium acidity. A bit leaner than what one might expect from the Aussies making it quite acceptable with a variety of foods. I'm having BBQ ribs.

big fruit and full mouth with a nice fruity, sweet finish. Not quite up to my expectation from reviews and CT tasting notes but still a good wine and at $20 a good deal. Likely will have lasting power for another 10 years

A bit of a surprise. On initial opening it presents significant fruit and drinks more like a dessert wine with non-existent tannins. My own fault for my lack of familiarity with this wine. Nonetheless, very pleasant if a bit overwhelming to the palate. I enjoyed it much more on the second day as the fruit had mellowed.

Had this with a rib steak and the perceived sweetness didn't work for me. Later had it with some sharp provolone and that was a much better match. Nice wine for $20 to drink with apps.

What a great wine for the price! Big, jammy, fruit forward wine. I wouldn't compare it with an amarone, despite the technique. It's not as complex, but nonetheless the use of aged grapes brings a pleasant sweetness to the palate. The tannins aren't huge, and I do not think that this will last more than a couple more years, but it sure is drinking well now. Wish I'd bought more!

Couple things on this bottle. Received my bottles today and one of the screw tops had cracked in shipping. Small amounts wine leaked so had no choice but to drink it tonight ;) The other thing is I have no experience with this type of wine making. Not sure how much the leak effected the wine, but I enjoyed it all the same. Will give score and a more comprehensive review on the next bottle that was not damaged during shipping.

I typically like Shiraz quite a bit, not sure the Amarone style making of this wine really appeals to me, came off very fruity, almost a bit port like. Overall, big fruity wine with biting tannins that were not all that refined or elegant.

They should have a place for . . . I LOVE IT!! As an Amarone lover, the moment I saw that this was made in the same method as Amarone, I opted for a case rather than the 3 bottle route I usually follow! My taste buds were rewarded!! Get some! You will love it as well!

I don't know what all the complaints are about, this was fine wine.

Second of four bottles. Typical Shiraz heat. Not overly impressed. Overshadowed by the second bottle of the night a Californian meritage...

Ultra smooth blackberry blueberry. You don’t really taste the 15% alcohol. Outstanding.
