This is my second bottle of As Sortes, and now I understand what all the fuss is about! The first bottle I had was way too young: hence also very oaky. This bottle was ripe and ready!
Light yellow colour. The nose is rich, fresh and complex with an abundance of ripe, yellow stonefruit and notes of wet stone, yellow flowers and a touch of almonds or nuts. On the palate I find the same flavours (as on the nose) with intensity and and purity and with a lovely round and creamy texture. There is definitly oak here, but this time it is integrated and adds a lot of complexity to the wine. I doubt this will get any better by further cellaring, but it is just beautiful now. I had with an apocryphal "Potage Billi Bi" and it was a good match! 91-92 p. Go Godello!

Pretty tight when opened and cooler; with air increased in weight and richness - ripe green fruit, honeysuckle, hints of orange elements, largely primary but with development to the texture, plenty of background freshness ****

A big wine, but yet showing plenty of sophistication and poise. Strong and muscular attack with a deep rich core. But also quite feminine with its delightful perfume and delicious mouthwatering fruit.

Firm and dense, but also fresh, floral, and citrussy. Lovely purity of fruit coming thru on the palate. Some oiliness in texture. Pretty chunky. Reminiscent of a good Puligny.

Green almonds and white stone fruit, lingering notes of white flowers and pronounced minerality. Silky and glyceric on the palate with a great persistancy on the finish. Supremely balanced. Wonderful stuff!

Another really darn delicious bottle. Seems to be really broadening out and getting more of the marcona almond thing. Not really fruity per se, but a very robust body.

Man is this a great wine this vintage. Hard to describe but far more pronounced aromatic, more tightly woven on the palate, with awesome minerality on the back end. Whew.

A private lunch (Restaurant Mugaritz **, Enterreria, Spain): Wonderfully pure style, creamy lemon fruit, cool minerality, perfect oak integration, silky and harmonious, matches a good Puligny for finesse, fresh but with good concentration, very good length.

Tasted via coravin. Not as rich and luxurious as the 2011 version of this wine. Instead a leaner and more direct proposition. Citrus and saline to the fore. Pleasant but not spectacular.

Deliciously dense and flavorful. Nose of nuts, stony minerals, and some florality. Firm but zesty palate. Long.
