Dark deep nose as dark as the night sky. Fruit is very evident and suggests this will be the same on the palate. No surprise here. Dark fruit with tobacco and a touch of earth. This is not a cute wine but somewhat brawny in nature. Fully ready to drink. If you have any bottles left my humble opinion is to drink up-or send them to me. Can’t blame me for trying:) Dave

This is now a seriously brawny wine - not for those who like their wine "smooth." Tonight this had a strong aroma of bacon fat and minerals. There was still plenty of fruit, but you had to get past the powerful initial aroma and taste. Not for the faint of heart!

Wow, this is impressive! Dark blackberry and blueberry fruit with a huge core of earth, licorice, tar, and leather. Firm tannins, long finish, great juice, solid effort!
Concentrated but well balanced syrah. Very young with just a hint of earth, leather and black pepper trying to come through the black fruit and spice. Medium-to-full weight with good, upfront acids to provide balance. Will be better in 4-6 years.

A smoky and meaty syarh- surprised to not see these notes with the other reviewers (-1 reviewer). Lots of black fruits with that smoke and meat. Well done and a BBQ wine.

Dark purple and almost inky black. The bit of Viognier might have contributed to this. Deeply pitched raspberries and blackberries. It of soft and silky on the palate. There was some sediment so not sure how long to wait on this one. Only got better and more complex as the night went on. Finished with notes of coffee and earth. A good amount of acidity kept things lively.

Opauqe dark garnet. Big, explosive nose of black fruit, toasted herbs, five spice and smoked meat. Medium to full bodied on the palate with juicy acidity that provides freshness and balance. Complex and layered. Very well done in a big style but with a restraint that lets the fruit and complexity shine through.

{tasting room visit} The fourth wine in the line-up, and the fruitiest nose so far, with aromas of chocolate, lavender, minerals and soil. Intensely concentrated, this needs 3+ years to come together; shows v.g. potential. Aerate 12 hours if opening anytime soon. recommended, with the potential move up one class if it's able to fulfill its potential. 15,5% abv.
Served non-blind.

Sexy aromas of black fruit, exotic spice and floral notes. Yum, love the exotic and herb-filled fruit profile. Juicy, balanced and persistent. My favorite of the 2011 line up.

Vinturi'ed & decanted 1 hr. Dark fruit nose. Nice big Paso style Syrah with consistent dark fruit tastes with a hint of chocolate. Enjoyable bottle.
