This wine opened up a bit sweet but very enjoyable from the start. It’s balanced and a touch of oak. The mid palate is firm and the finish is long and pleasant.

2 hrs air. Substantially better than my last tasting ( about 2 years ago?) - much more integrated as well as developed. Very penetrating bouquet of cherry, burnt hay, cloves, enoki. Also a very definite edge of kerisik. Even the nose has a oily, olive texture to it. Palate is full of fine tannins that still have a slight wild tinge to them, but otherwise a very harmonious wine. Some wines are compelling and intricate in their center. This has a fairly four square core but all sorts of interesting spandrels flying out from it. Yeah, I know that sounds like the opposite of “integrated”. Well, I guess that means it is still on the ascent. Give it air and it is now already very interesting. Score: 92-93. Relative to expectations: ++

Complex nose. Mint, cigar spice, some dusty sweet cherry. Still young and tight, though in its early drinking window. My concern is that it's a little thin so not sure about how much more concentrated it will become.

A very complex, concentrated, youthful, and tasty Ribera. Raspberry, pomegranate, cherry, mint, slate, vanilla, and oak. Tannins are full and still very drying so it could use another few years, medium acid. Incredibly balanced, I'm very happy to have more bottles in my cellar.

Buttered dark rye toast nose. Savoury and earthy flavours (olives, butter, cedar) with moderate acidity and a distinct tannin in artful balance; long complex, classic finish. 5/5

Had a glass from a decanted magnum. Medium garnet. Dark berries, vanilla and some soil. Well balanced with integrated tannins. Medium length. Nice

Nicely balanced and integrated. Lot of backbone. Fair amount of cassis and cherry on both nose and palate. Might be better in a few years.
