  • This was the first wine served at a dinner at home comprising all wines from the '89 vintage. Those present were told it was a Louis Rouderer and asked to guess the vintage. All agreed that the orangey yellow colour and deep nose were reminiscent of a fine sherry. Some good bubbles and a reasonable "pop" when opened, this was little like any usual champagne and most guessed it was about 10 to 15 years old. So, at twenty years old, holding up well and a great talking point to start the dinner.
