What a lovely wine! I put this away 9 years ago(2014), talk about patience!? Back in the day Woot Wine would promote Peter Wellington wines and I've tasted my share. But this!? Wow, just wow... I think of all the highly prized wines selling for $60+ and this would slay most of them. Fruit nose, with integrated tannins, good structure, very soft. I suspect it's getting close to its end. I'm so glad I waited, really nice finish. If you have some in your cellar, drink up through 2025.
Check out my cork, lots of residue, which I like to see on my cork. 😉

Not the best pairing with turkey, but this is coming along nicely. Just seems to be emerging from a bit of a slumber since it was a bit closed down at first and opened up with some air. Starting to show some secondary notes but not yet fully into the teenage years.

Wish I bought more of this wine when the winery was closing out. Wow, this wine really improved with age. Still a full bodied complex wine with no sign of aging.

Delicious. Obviously in a good place now, with no signs of decline. Wonderful nose, bright red fruit, layers of other flavors, and a finish that doesn't end. If you can find it, buy it. I will.

This wine is finally ready to drink now. Harsh tannins have mellowed perfectly, but the wine still has a youthful feel to it. Great balance, great wine.

Wow, this is a beautiful wine. If you have a bottle of this, do yourself a favor and open it now...I can't imagine this wine drinking any better than it is now.

Fairly cloudy, dark red with semi-clear edges. Cedar, earthy blackberry, and old spice nose. Medium bodied, baked cherries, sweet tannins, mint chocolate, good acid, and a long finish. It's rocking now; drink up.

All the Victory vintages I've had (at least so far), have been, at the least, excellent. This one is outstanding, even in that august company. I'm sorry he's retired; he truly had a gift.

PnP it's fairly peppery and with a lot of dark fruit. Floral notes as well - this is in line with what I remember of the Merlot component but without the strawberries. Palate is balanced, dense. Yum.
Continued to evolve well over a couple hours. Good now, but patience will continue to be rewarded, I suspect. But if you have a case, a bottle a year from here on out wouldn't be a bad choice.

Day 1 this was all green and full of mint/eucalyptus. A touch hard to enjoy, even though it was interesting to taste. Flash forward to Day 3 and WOW, what an changed wine! Much less green/mint/eucalyptus, and more fruit, earth and all of the flavors I would expect of a Sonoma Bordeaux blend. This definitely benefited from more air, so I'd hold off for another year or two. The 10 year mark should be prime drinking for this one. Drink 2019 - 2029.

Decanted through the Vinturi not long before drinking. Dark, completely opaque in the glass, with just the faintest magenta rim. Nose is subdued, woodsy and a touch of eucalyptus. Lots of dark fruit and some cocoa and florals. Nice lingering finish, with slightly grabby tannins. Don't feel like I popped this too soon, butt I'm also glad I have two other bottles to come back to at a later date!

Doing fine, thank you very much. Maybe a little less red fruit, a few more herbs, a little more depth. Excellence in a bottle. Drink up, klezman!

No good notes yet, and I'm no exception. Good bottle here, approachable now but still young and better given a long decant.
