Decanted. Just so elegant and refined with classic Meursault-traits - lemon, buttery, a hint of exotic fruits and some mineral notes. Long, complete and living up to the high expectations for this wine!

DJCV wine. Bombastic. Gunflint and sulfur reduction serving as the overture to intensely tropical fruit and zipping acidity. Well-balanced wine that was almost certainly the finest white wine of the evening. Beautiful now.

12/13 pair. A bit overly reductive to start, the decanter cleans this up for a couple of hours. Taste at hour 2+ was totally singing and probably just better than the 12 that was singing out of the gates.

Served next to the Meursault Caillerets, this is a good illustration of how (at least chez Coche) Rougeots is basically the qualitative equivalent of a premier cru. This seems a little more in the pre-2013 style than the Caillerets with more creamy reductive notes and a more enveloping nose (less painfully intense). Otherwise, the verbena, cordite/mineral notes seem quite similar. Best to tuck these away for a couple more years, I think - but really illuminating to taste today.

Good nose with flinty struck rocks and trace smoke. Pleasant reduction and mild sulphur. Coche typicity. The wood spice is really pretty. Palate is intense with striking green and citrus fruit up front. Medium high acid but with good weight to the fruit. Searing and precise, a little too much for me at the moment. Still rounds out towards the end and drinks really nicely. Long.

Classically styled Meursault that to my palate had less of a Coche signature than I've grown to expect. Lemon, mineral, loooong finish. Not as much weight and dry extract as the best wines from this producer. In sum, a very good wine, but not worth the tariff - can get many exceptional, mature Chevalier Montrachet for this price. To be fair, it's young so in time this may gain weight and complexity.

Youthful struck match; this has classic poise & breed. An exemplary white burgundy, which was enjoyed over a long lunch. Top notch (& price!). Sure to be a long distant runner & offer more with time.

Clearly Coche. A little overdone and not yet settled. Too early

Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys La Paulée Auction; 3/10/2022-3/11/2022 (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Popped-and-poured, served alongside the 2012. This was noticeably reductive to start, so decanter aeration was required, which worked its miracles here. This evolved into a layered, spiced wine with the great juxtaposition of sweet and tart elements. Probably even better than the 2012 by the 2-hour mark.

Not sure. Maybe caught this on an off day. Looked hard & blocky, fair bit of brett as well.

Acker 2019/02 (Vaucluse): Not as extract as I expected from Coche so this is interesting style, but still lovely pepper, lemon and clarity. 92

Wine with a Few Smaller Meals While in Burgundy; 6/21/2016-7/1/2016 (Cote d'Or (Mostly)): Popped and poured. Lemon, quince, allspice and ginger throughout. Some faint tropical fruit to start, which disappeared quickly, while the overall wine really finished with real cut and energy. Needs time.
