This has actually aged quite nicely. This was a door prize I put in the cellar and forgot it. 7 was always decent but I drink less Zinfandel these days. Was opening it to cook with and decided to taste it. Strong color nice berry, black pepper nose, modest tannin in finish, a hint of black tea and slight sweetness. Will make a very good daube.

Archived in the cellar for whole time. Decanted for couple of hours. Deep ruby color. Forest fruit marmalade and dark chocolate in nose. Full body, tones of forest fruit marmalade, prune butter and leather on palate. Long taste. Very nice surprise.

Although bought with the bottle of my last Tasting Note, this bottle was in another league and it barely made the minors. Simply it struck me as tasting like a cheap slightly sweetened cigar tobacco. To my surprise my wife said it was OK. I could find nothing that is would be called flawed ---Brett or corked, so it gets evaluated as bottle variation.

Medium purple with no garnet. Dark fruit with earthy spice. Palate is dark cherry and well balanced tannins and acid. The definition of quaffing wine. Best to drink over the next year.

Bright to medium purple with clear rim. Bright black cherry with cedar and a hint of green tomatoe leaves. Mostly cherry on the pallet slightly green tobacco. Good acid support with fine tannins weak finish. Drink up.

Heavier than expected. Needs to air for probably 45 minutes. Then begins to show good varietal character. Medium full-bodied, good balance and lingering finish.

Almost opaque red/purple color, a few legs. Grapey, vinous, woody, alcoholic and introverted nose. Full body, soft tannins at this stage, dense flavor, hot mouthfeel, average length. Sweet & sour. Very fruity, cherries, grapes. Pleasant enough, not great. Still drinking well but not likely to improve.

Opened this wine in the MD condo. Not a bad wine at all. A bit soft, and driven by ripe fruit. Not a lot of structure, but one would not expect a lot at this price. I think I paid $11 at Costco. A good solid B+ wine for the money.

Fruit forward with well intergrated tannins and acidty. Packs that nice zinfandel spiciness. I would not seek it again, unless I was trying to do a zin tasting, but I would happily drink it if served.

Pretty standard product for Michael and David. Very over-the-top berries, fruit forward, rich, oaked Zinfandel. Most of their products follow this exact same profile, but this one is at a better price. Overall, really enjoyed this wine as a daily drinker.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like plum, prune, raisin and red currant. It tastes like black currant (cassis), raisin, prune, cherry, plum, coffee and medium toast. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Not the best Zin. It seemed a bit washed out to me, yet still highly acidic. Gave it a night with only cork it to balance out and still wasn't impressed. 2013 was a better year for Lodi zins from what I have tasted, but this is also the first I have had with this winery. Didn't have the bold characteristics of zinfandel's typically nature. I will not buy again, even on sale.
Tannic. Sour. Little characteristic zin flavor. Not worth even the Costco price. I have one more bottle. I see others liked it. If the other bottle changes my mind I will update this note.
This interesting, medium to full bodied Zin has a nose of herbal floral. Dark berry mouth, with a cola. coffee mid-range and a short to medium tobacco tail with increasing tannins. It goes well by itself or with various cheeses for a start.

There is a lot to like here in the $10-$15 range. Rich, inviting fruit backed by baking spices on the nose. Dark red velvet mouthfeel. Acidity is lacking but the flavors never get overripe nor pruney. Pairs well, for a red wine, with spice-driven dishes. And quite enjoyable on its own. I like it. 15.0% alcohol.
Wild anise and dark fruit nose. Dominant blackberry with notes of dark roast coffee and cocoa. Slight tartness leads into a slightly sweet, medium length silky finish.

Nicely balanced, fruity wine with a hefty amount of spice too. I don't see the pro rating over 90 but well made and balanced. A good volume drinking Zin. I enjoyed it with smoked pork BBQ

Ordered wine for 33 at company dinner in Orlando with limited choices. This wine saved the night. Very fruity easy drinker that got the job done and I'm very picky about my Zins. Not Geyserville or Duarte but a yummy Lodi party wine that went well with food or on its own.

This wine is a bit of conundrum to me. On one hand the nose is very nice with more than decent complexity and depth. On the other hand the palate is severely lacking in intensity and length. Feels mostly short and watery.
Tar, smoke, raisins, blueberries, cherries, tobacco, leather, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, green dried herbs, soured sausages (salami, Onsalakorv) and liquorice.
Medium acidity, round with no tannins. Medium+ body, low intensity and a short finish. Nose 88-89P and palate about 80-82P.
