A little past its prime with some diaper pail on the nose. It blows off somewhat over 4 hours. After that, baked blackberry & blueberry. Finish is short-medium, but not unpleasant.

I guess the cork saga is the one that has most impact on the wine. Does anyone know if they are starting to use screwtops, or has their cork curating improved?

Still going strong at 13 years, and of a complexity likely to make the next 4-5 years excellent and interesting, if only I had more bottles! this was a gift from someone who lives a few KM away from the vineyard. No need to add tasting notes as everyone else has pointed out the delicious blending of the characters of each of the grapes that go into the mix.

Wow!Wow!Wow! What a wine! Rasberry, blackcurrant, licorice as aromas and melted tannins with fruity and spicy taste. This wine brings me the sun in my heart especially during a rainy day

Too old and too tired. Acid is retreating and tannins are sagging. Not bad for a third or fourth bottle of the night but definitely wouldn't start with it. Not if you like your guests anyway...

Get drinking as this is getting tired. High alcohol meets stewed fruit, extraction and dried plums. The sweetness is a little jarring as it wasn't expected. Might have to use this for some other purposes...

Nat cork. A dull color merging elements of red, purple, and brown. Nose is pretty with an interesting almost burnt note complimenting floral and an almost soapy, but not unpleasant note. Also oddly a distinct tinge of watermelon. Full bodied and tasty, an earthy and woodsy note quickly dominates some vague red fruit flavors of rhubarb and strawberry. This bottle had more tannin than i recalled but still silky. A tasty wine and going strong but well into its secondary characteristics and prob for drinking in the relative short-term.

Nat cork. A fairly dull and dark but clean red with clear rim. Rhubarb, licorice root and warm earth on nose. Very tasty - full bodied, a medicinal note with anise, some sweet tobacco, a touch of blackberry compote. Still structured but tannin only really perceptible on the finish which lingers. Lovely.

RUSSK Beautiful nose (when cork pulled) of mineral and earth and leather. Med bodied. But even after a 2.5hr decant, too hot (garnacha hot) and spicy (Syrah spicy). Not balanced.

Nat cork. Dull red, medium opacity, with pretty glints in the glass. A pretty, forward nose of strawberry and other red berries, some earth/barn, a really lovely aroma all together. Palate has some slightly stewed fruit - darker in profile than nose might have suggested. A slight medicinal thing is going on too. Still structured although a bit short in the mid-palate. Has finsih and mouthfeel that lingers nicely. An interesting, enjoyable wine.

light to medium body. dark rub with extended border showing its age. emphasizes pepper and cranberry and earth. it is tightly wound and not expressive of fruit. drinks like an elegant table wine. not great for drinking on its own.

Night 1: incredible nose but fell to nothing in the mid-palate. Night 2: Red licorice, strawberry/rubarb jam, and a hint of rubber/bandaid & mint on the nose. Lucious red fruit up front, mid-palate starts to fade (but doesn't have the big hole we saw last night), but a bit of a short finish with a thin line of cassis. The acid seems out of balance with the tannins -- the acid is there, and the tannins are still kind of sticky, but they seem to interfere with each other...maybe that's where the mid-palate & finish go? Definitely this has turned into a nicer wine over night, but at $31 it still seems like a weak QPR.

Thx to Caleb (and apparently JoeG) for turning me on to this one. A year later, the nose is floral, full of fruit and gorgeous. silk on the palate, with a healthy helping of fruit perfectly suppoerted by a tannic and acidic backbone. Oak is perfectly integrated and not obtrusive. A little green, but that is a plus to some. I'd give it 91 pts but I don't have enough experience in the region to confidently break 90 yet!

So I picked up alot of wine w/ joeg at premier in buffalo and I am so excited about all of it. I popped this bottle with mike at WFL last night and he was dead on with the funkier leather notes, combined with gorgeous spanish fruit. Today that has definitely blew off and I am left with a wonderful elegance. Pure smokey strawberry on the nose with hints and accents of pyrazine, dirty earth tones and raspberry. this wine is med acidity med tannin and very plush on the palate. Just a bit short. 91 Aromatics, 90 palate and 89 finish 90 overall A GREAT first entrance in to spanish priorat (sort of). YUMMY wine that you can drink a bottle of easilly. Big ups to joeg for showing me this one!

Actually pretty damn good Spanish wine. 50% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 25% Merlot & 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A really nice blend with a great nose and fruit on the palate. I am definitely on the hunt for some more of this.

Dark color with a nose that is herbal with hints of tar, anise, mint, black pepper, and subtle raspberry fruit. In the mouth this wine is lush with fine tannins and a medium acidity. Overall a very elegant wine that I would enjoy drinking almost any day of the week. Nice cherry and raspberry flavors with herbal undergrowth woven within. GREAT wine from a so-so vintage. 4.5/5

Rich red color, clear and brilliant. The nose shows chocolate, anise, and fresh cherries. Dense in the mouth with medium weight tannins. The acidity is high and helps to keep this wine fresh as flavors of fresh raspberries and vanilla oak round out the palate. 4/5

Nice bottle with just enough old world charm to it to make it not like the loads of other modern spanish wines that it competes against.
