Straddles the Oregon / Burgundy divide. Clean, vibrant, very elegant Pinot Noir. Not heavy or light… just right. Lovely. Opened 90 minutes ahead. No decant.

PnP and drank over 2 hours. Brownish ruby. Medium-minus opacity. Medium body. Tasty strawberry with cherry, raspberry and nice, moderate spices — mixture varied throughout the time. Delicious.

14.0% abv. Dark crimson in glass, clear rim. Roses, cherries, clove on nose. Med plus weight in mouth, little in the way of tannins. Strawberry jelly, spices, some mushrooms. Finishes sweeter than I’d prefer for a Pinot. Med- length finish. Just ok.

Dark but just short of opaque. Inviting aromas of red cherry and red roses. Very smooth and flowing in the mouth. The swallow culminates in a spike of intense fruit, mouth watering texture, and refreshing acidity. The finish is long, juicy, and delicious. An undertow of tannin helps the wine remain buoyant. Drunk across 5 days and steadily improved. Decent value at the $40 I paid.

Dense garnet hue, translucent and good clarity. Aromas are lean, vegetal, tea, perfume, flowers, and earthy notes. Tastes are cherry, tea, clove, peppery spices, dill. and good tannic firmness with a nice long finish and just a little heat.

Bright color, translucent and star bright garnet. Aromas are restrained, hints of cocoa powder, earthy, clove, hints of dill and sassafras. Tastes are dusty earth, clove, raspberry, cranberry, and green olive. The length is wonderful and the tannins are velvety. Elegant wine and delicious.

The nose is dark and spicy, with dark cherry fruit being complimented by dark earth, nutmeg, and other spices suggesting stems. When tasted, a light chalky structure supports the dark fruit, and full lime acidity runs across the entire palate. Towards the finish, the acid rises to the foreground, and the dark fruit lingers underneath.

A blend of Pommard and clones 777 and 115, all rooted in ancient marine sedimentary soils that form the foundation and consequently the backbone of the 2012 Angela Abbott Claim Vineyard. Textbook growing conditions combined with this stellar site have yielded a wine with heady, rapturious aromas of hibiscus, musky black tea, mushrooms, truffles, smokey incense and lush black cherries. It’s a perfect ying-yang between masculine and feminine flavors and structure, with a silken, fleshy mid-palate offset by vivid acidity, and fine, firm tannins. A somewhat big Pinot Noir that has maintained its poise, it’s also still slightly tight—consider tucking this one away in the cellar for another 5-7 years. Sample

A bit flat in first pour - one note. Light tobacco with slight juices on tongue, cherry.

A bit dark. Ripe on the palate, with some good acidity to pull it back in some. Deep dark cherry flavors with minerality.
