  • Dark ruby fruit - dark cherry, blackberry, and dark currants. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth for the price point. Fairly rich and a little sweet. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. Popped and poured but drank out of a decanter for a couple hours. Not much improvement with time but appears to be at a nice drinking point. Drank next to a 2010 Janzen Cloudy's and 2013 Kamen cab which I thought were quite a bit better - although also more expensive. I believe the Marchiori might of shown a little better by itself. Nonetheless, still a solid cab for around $50. 100% cab.

  • Opaque but bright ruby red turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose is quite attractive showing scents of violets, dark berries, licorice, and scorched earth. It displays a full body, dense structure, and creamy in texture showing ripeness of fruit but balanced by low-to-medium acidity and earthy nuances. Flavors of blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, dark chocolate, reduced sweet balsamic vinegar, tobacco and vanilla oak. This is quite an outstanding achievement, and slightly underrated by some critics. Finishes long with rounded tannin leaving hints of mineral, smoke and spice. Drink now until 2027.

  • Tastes like chocolate cake. Not my cup of tea. Or my slice of cake.
