Opened this bottle along side my 2017 Pinot Noir after harvesting earlier in the day. Drinking very well. Round and supple with notes of cranberries and ripe cherries. My last bottle. 91 points.

Ruby color, bright cherry fruit, light body with supple tannins. Intense fruit settled a bit with time in the glass. One of the better Pinots I've tasted from MI.

Was looking forward to this bottle, and of course, it's corked. Not horribly so, but it's definitely off....still, i'm thirsty so i'm drinking it anyways. NR

Brought to an offline at Adelle's. 2nd time I have had this wine. Decanted for an hour before dinner. Ruby color. notes of cranberry, cocoa, light oak and black cherry. Solid tannins with a little smoke on the finish. 90 points.

Dark ruby color. Notes of cherry and spice with a woody, more like stemmy, overtone. Medium-bodied with flavors of cherry and raspberry with a nice earthy component but here too also a bit of a stemmy quality. There's also an astringency which is a bit distracting. Eventually develops a dried tea note but remains astringent. Everyone nailed this as Pinot, but it did not have many fans at the table. Most guessed Oregon.
This had been opened about 90 minutes before the flight and I may have done it a disservice by not opening it sooner or decanting it.

2015 Wyncroft Winery Visit (Michigan) (7 potentially 90+ wines with 1 classic 95 pointer); 8/29/2015-9/1/2015 (Wyncroft Winery, South Haven, Michigan): From bottle at the winery. This has been bottled for 1 year. A ruby/scarlet color. Wonderful structure and elegant for being so young and from a ripe vintage. 2012 was a hot year which produced very ripe fruit. Bright fruit with notes of pomegranite, roses and cherries. Fine silky tannins. A lovely well proportioned wine. Burgundian style. 47 cases produced. Jim thought this would be in it's prime in 3-4 years. This is the best Avonlea Pinot since the 2005 vintage. 91 points.

Wyncroft Winery Visit (Michigan): Deep color with aromas of tea leaf, cherry, Asian five spice, cardamom, and rose hips. Develops a nice earthy quality as it opens in the glass. Good structure; flavors of cherry, red berry fruit, spice and just a hint of wood. Lovely, with a lingering finish. Very impressive. 91-92 pts.

30+ wines in Michigan (The Goldberg's): With the caveat that if the 2005 is any indication, this will develop beautifully. Right now it has light cherries on the nose. Young, tart acidity with cranberries and rhubarb. It is a nice Pinot but needs some time to develop. I do have faith in Jim's wines.
