  • Classical Nuits bouquet. Really pure, cherries almost northern Rhône like. Quite a lot of grip and rather focused. Still really young with a potential for probably 2 decades.

  • Decanted 3 bottles for a dinner. Powerful nose as soon as they were uncorked. Good grip and structure on the palate. Lots of red berries and long finish. Still youthful. The wines are enjoyable now but will benefit from another 2-3 years.

  • Arnoux Lachaux NSG tasting. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Apearance is clear, pale almost medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of leather, clay earth, violets, dark red cherries, red plum. Developing.
On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe dark red cherries, red plums, leather, clay earth, emerging meat, violet juice, chalky mineral background. Long finish.
Very good quality. Some hints of awesome tertiary notes to come. Maybe at the start of a drinking window, but more good development is sure to come.
Guessed correctly as 2013, but wrong plot.

  • Opened 2 hours before serving, dark for a Burg, this has a ripe cherries & sauvage nose, bit of oak, mouth puckering acidity, rustic, this would be better with 2-3 more years

  • From 0.375. Wanted to try this wine as it gets good reviews with the steady advancements of the Lachaux portfolio. Medium ruby, quite dark for a Burg, shiny color. Discrete nose of dark and red fruit, subtle oak and vanilla. The palate is very sophisticated and polished. Really elegant, no rusticity, reminds me of the Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne Village more than a NSG. Competent wine making here, much to like. Can be approached now but I am curious what the tertiary notes will add here. 93-94

  • A day in Burgundy- 4/4/16: Tasted at the domaine. Very expressive aromas- minerals, tea, fig, mushroom, rose hips. Textured and complex on the palate, with great presence on the mid-palate, full and round tannins, nicely balanced acid, and a full finish. Excellent, and showing very well.
