I said two years ago this wine was nearing the end of its drinking window. I was wrong. Opened beautifully. Complex regional nose and a beautifully weighted palate with excellent length. Reminds me in its sweetness and mouthfeel of a Barossa Shiraz, but without any extraction or heaviness. Damn nice.

Probably towards the tail end of its drinking window. Smooth, rich, interesting Victorian regional Shiraz. Still showing traces of the beautiful perfumed nose of its youth.

It is a great vine. So fantastic beautiful fruit. This was my fourth bottle of these, and there has been some development. My guess is that it is close to its peak at the moment, maybe even a bit overmature (I do not have ideal storage possibilities - so that might be factor in the general experience). The fruit is very upfront and there is just enough acidity left to balance it out.
My advice is to drink up within the next year maybe two. And enjoy this excellent Australian Shiraz.

Magnificent shiraz, that seems to be closing in on maturity; the fruit is cool and clean, and there is a precision here, that speaks volumes of the producers ability. Fra from an Australian blockbuster, this wine wins by elegance and drinkability, it is a classic expression i of shiraz with olives, mint a, bacon and black fruit, yet very refreshing. Wish I had more.

Less impressive than previous bottles, the tannins were just a bit abrupt for me,quite firm and stood in front of the fruit. Not sure if this means it needs a bit more to develop but the great floral fruit I love in the Genesis was just not quite the star of the show this time around. Am still a believer so will be interested to see where the next bottle lands.

Fantastic wine - violets on the nose, dark cherry, blackberry, meaty bits and spice. Similar on the palate with dark cherry, blackberry, bacon bits and roasted meats, pepper, clove, hints of licorice. Beautiful balance of all components and great complexity and length. A benchmark Syrah for me.

One of the best Shiraz I have had in the last year. Drinking incredibly well, so smooth and balanced. An elegant wine, which is what I think they are going for with the whole package.

Opened up with only a short 30min decant, and improved for the following 3hrs. Lovely freshness and balance, not a fruit bomb - great floral and herb aroma, benefits from the added viognier. Love the good (but not too much) fruit in the mouth, touch of anise and cassis followed by gentle white pepper finish. This is really trying to be different from the Aussie shiraz stereotype (it even has 'syrah' on the label)... and it succeeds. This should continue to improve to 2015 at least and drink to 2020.

Just a wonderful wine. Amazing aromatics showing dried herbs, cured meats and a kaleidoscope of red fruits. Palate is complex, supple and so well balanced. Notes of licorice, sour cherries, cinnamon and beautiful oak. Tannins are perfect, length is amazing but the hero is the gorgeous fruit. Up there with the best of this style in the country and would compete well on a global scale. Great stuff that will age extremely well but drinks so well now it is hard to resist.

Brilliant wine. Intoxicating nose, ever changing offering smoke, blackberry, black cherry, cloves, pepper and cinnamon, flowers and violets, aniseed, bacon hints all wrapped up in leather. Tremendous understated power, black cherri, smoky, spicy, floral. Superb length, lingers forever. Amazing the power generated from a medium bodied wine. Distinct nod to Cornas but also distinctly Australian.

Deep purple young appearance, sour wet smell on nose that gave way to stong berry fruit, very fruity on palate, good structure with strong tannins. Still drinking very young and should be tried again 2 years plus. Simple wine but very nice and should improve.

This is a terrific wine, loaded with minerality and fruit all wrapped in a sumptuous velvety robe. A big wine but not at all over the top. Time may show more Beechworth terroir, but this drinks well now if you can't wait.

Still a superb Shiraz Viognier.
Lovely fruit, medium bodied and silky texture.
Last of the breed for us but wish we had more!

A well-made Shiraz with glossy fruit but some restraint. Some rough tannins and a bit one dimensional. Solid.

Preceded by the 2005 and very much like it, except that it had slightly more mature hay notes in the nose.

Violets, apricot and dark berries. Balanced and textured on the palate. Drinkable now, but time will bring rewards.
