Dark but not inky red. Raspberry, earth and spice nose. Light to medium bodied, pepper, cola, crushed cherries, a touch of woody tannins, tobacco smoke, some heat, and a medium finish. Just grape juice on the first pour, but developed over a couple of days into something much more satisfying.

To the nose, dark fruit of black raspberry, blackberry, and dark cherry. With spice - cinnamon. On the palate, fruit continues to be dark with dark cherry, blackberry and boysenberry or plum. Silky threads for tanins give some structure. Spice of cinnamon, pepper, and maybe sage. Very slight leather and cola; no oak or earth. Moderate mouth feel and length. Great QPR. Will buy again in another vintage - this one is possibly past peak.

Very nice once it has breathed 2 hours. As good second night. Served @ 63F
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like strawberry and cherry. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.
On 11/9/15 I had a second bottle and my opinion hasn't changed :)

Bought to share with friends on a male bonding weekend in the mountains, and five of us consumed five bottles over grilled steaks and vegetables and into the wee hours. It's a great wine for this sort of occasion, and a terrific value for the money. I went back and bought every other bottle the retailer had last week and may adopt it as our everyday Malbec. At $13 per bottle (for a "reserve" - the non-reserve is $9), it can't be beat!

Visual: Deep ruby color. 20-25% opaque with moderately forming legs.
The nose: Soil and raisins with a hint of pepper.
Da flava: Dirty peppery raisins
The wine: Super soft mouth feel. Mild tannins, light acidity. Finish is a bit short. Great QPR. Bought from recommendation. Not my favorite style, but it is a good vino.

Vinegar smell... wasn't a good sign, but the smooth buttery fruits were delicious.
Slight pop on the tongue, and a round finish with hints of salami and smoked meats. But light on the tongue. A little bright for a malbec.
Pair with a good salad or chicken .
