Closing out the warm temps with the last Rose of the season! Holding up extremely well for a '14! Crisp, decent fruit, and hitting the spot just right this evening and exceeding expectations!! My boys going for a sweep tonight! Go Jays!!

We have other roses and think they are very good and then we have this and are reminded what great rose is all about. At least for us it doesn't get any better.

Pale salmon pink. Clean nose of sea air and blood orange. Fresh citrus fruit on the palate with a sharp acid bite and a long finish. A nice refreshing rose, would go well with salty fatty charcuterie to cut the acid. 50 + 16 + 15 + 7.

Loved it last year (the 2013), really like it this year too, just not quite as much for some reason. Intensely refreshing and lithe. Was hoping for a little extra punch. It speaks quietly so maybe I just wasn't patient enough this year. Or maybe it just is what it is …

Fresh berry, melon and a hint of lime made for a deliciously refreshing combination on a warm, humid day. The wine was light on the palate, while also maintaining its bright fruit. Tasty stuff as usual.

Pale pink color. The nose brings fresh aromas of honeydew melon, sea spray, cracked pepper and rocky earth- medium in intensity. It ups the ante on the palate with racy melon and orange zest fruit and rich depth of rose hips, white pepper and slate. Lithe and silky palate with nervy acid. Dry and juicy fruit on the finish. Excellent.

The 2014 Mattaison Napa Valley Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise from the Windmill Vineyard. I love this wine because what it communicates is restraint and tensile minerality as one would find in a good Provence rosé. Delicate floral aromas, slightly underripe white peaches, and white hand soap lend dimension to a lithe frame that has a subtle and demure touch of creaminess in the background. White plum skins and pie cherries crescendo before slowly unwinding. 11.2% ABV Sample

White peach and a fresh salinity on the nose. On the palate: peach and hibiscus are woven together with a refreshing electric acidity. Fantastic representation of Rose.

Tough not to love! Hit the spot after a long flight back from London. Holding up quite well for a 2014.

Crisp and not over powering. A hint of butterscotch on the nose. Very easy to drink, but could use a tad more fruit.

Essence of raspberry and cantaloupe melon mingled with mineral water. Refreshing and spring-like, even on a dark, rainy and cold May day.

A lighter rose that grew on me over time, but not as mineral or precise as it could be.
