  • I was in the mood for some aged deliciousness so I pulled this beauty from the cellar and crossed my fingers. Cork was somewhat moldy on top but looked fairly sound, and pulled easily from the bottle with my trusty Durand (but then again...when does a cork NOT come out perfectly using a Durand). Fairly translucent rusty brown in color and a slightly musty nose at first that blew off quickly to reveal autumn leaves, earth, sweet spice, and cinnamon. On the palate, it was medium bodied with refreshing acidity. Tea leaves, dirt, sweet cherry tobacco, and a very long, dry finish.

Literally exactly what I was looking for tonight. Incredible aged zin from an iconic producer, made in a very classic style. Life. Is. Good.
