Still pretty tightly wound. Wasn’t giving up much but had a nice core of cherry fruit and upfront acidity. This has nice “bones” but isn’t giving up too much. Has a little deeper fruit but also larger scaled acidity and structure compared to the other ‘12’s. Best to bury this one. Better on night 2. Showed more depth to the fruit and a nice forest note. Seemed to be at an awkward phase, still best to hold.
Nice nose of raspberries. Palate shows tart red fruit, raspberries, bitter chocolate. Nice acidity, mild tannins, good balance. Moderately long finish of tart red fruits. Good, not great. My second bottle with similar notes. Drink over the next 3 to 4 years.
Drank my last bottle and it evolved beautifully. Perfect drinking window now and maybe another year. Cherry is very pronounced, but not sweet. Ripe with good acid. Lingering finish. Just awesome especially given the price. Goodfellow is cranking out seriously good wines, including his whites that are undervalued given their quality.

Purchased this after tasting thru Marcus' lineup at his tasting room over the 4th. Opened this before I read his write-up that suggests letting this age as long as possible - oh well at least I gave it about an hour decant. Big hit of ripe red cherry perfume on the nose. Loads more red cherry on the tongue along with red licorice, a bit of anise, cranberry, lively acidity and a medium long finish. My only bottle, so we'll just have to grab a few more next time we're in Portland visiting our son in order to see how it evolves in the long haul.

I took this to a tasting and PnPed. It needs time to breath or a few more years in the cellar. Very good given the setting, worth every penny.
