Wow, either this is an off bottle or it has changed enormously since previous sampling. Acidity has not faded, but has become disjointed, which has me wondering whether it might have been added post fermentation. With the fruit gone, this has instead acquired an unpleasant vegetal note. If had to score it, would give at most 84 or 85, but will not enter a score as I am not sure whether this is age related or simply a flawed bottle.

High pitched nose of herbs and flowers. The oak has integrated much better than I recall from a few years ago. Elegant middle weight textures. Perfectly balanced finish with good tannic structure and loads of acidity. I wonder how this is possible in such a hot year - maybe added acidity? In any event, wow, cliche to say this, but drinks like a much pricier Cote Rotie. Fanstistic QPR contributing to the high score. I believe the acidity will allow this to age for several more years.

2 hour decant. This Syrah with a touch of Viognier is quite an amazing drink, which is why I sought it out - there's a bouquet in the nose of flowers and wine - in the mouth it's full, deep, grippy, with a decent finish - all that said, I'd hoped for something just a little more amazing than this - the Telhas (a similar concept blend) is, I think, slightly better.

This wine matured nicely. It was in the cellar for 1-2 years before drinking. Very smooth, some fruit, retained a full body. It was a little flat when first opened, but the flavor broadened after about 90 min.

I just visited Paso Robles, and I feel like I'm back there, drinking this delicious Syrah. Still evolving. A little heavy on tar and ashes, but Fruit forward still. Lotso tannins. I'll try it again in a few months.

Very well structured. Elegant nose with the viognier coming through nicely. Moderate weight on the mid palate. Excellent grip from the tannins on the finish. Outstanding QPR at a discounted rate of $22. Should continue to age well.

Nice in a Cote Rotie style (Syrah/Viognier). But true to Portuguese winemaking principles, more subdued and with nice acidity to pair with food. tasted at a Winebow Portuguese tasting and decided to buy a 6 pack along with thier Madrigal (100% Viognier).

2003 was the HUGe heat wave in Europe and this shows it. See previous note.

Kind of pruney, which to me means it is showing age. Still nice.
