Decanted for several hours which I recommend for most Ridge wines, especially Rhone varietals. This was really.....okay. Soft aromatics-strawberry. Some cherry and strawberry notes on the palate, light mouthfeel from the Grenache. You could probably hold another couple years but no reason to. I do not see this getting better.

Notes of black cherry, plum, black olive, black pepper, soy sauce, beef jerky. Medium bodied with juicy acidity, moderate tannins and medium length on the finish.

My last bottle. Blackberry, cedar, touch of vanillin, crushed rocks, and med-low acidity. Reasonably balanced - but for some oak sticking out a tad much. Drinking nicely. Close to fully mature.

Opened, slow ox’d in bottle for 75 min, then drank over the next 2hrs. Excellent - much, much more to my liking than the 2010 vintage. Blackberry, cedar, touch of vanillin, crushed rocks, and good acidity. Good balance - very much unlike the 2010 I had a couple of weeks ago, where oak was unbearable. Will revisit my remaining bottle in a year or two. Drinking very nicely.

With Sheet pan chicken with sour dough bread and bacon. Opened 45 minutes before drinking. Pretty wine - ruby - good color to rim, medium depth of color, no sediment apparent. Nose: blackberry, spice, fig, plum, pepper. Palate: dry, but not austere, light tannin. Good finish.

Deep dark center, red rim with modest signs of age. Creamy, cotton candy, smoke, alcohol, dust and rosemary, southern Rhone, iron. Smooth, damsons and garrigue, a richer version of a Rhone wine, herbs and stones, pepper, excellent length. Excellent Rhone blend, drinking well now, still will go for a few.

This is an ok mid-week wine that went well with spicy chili. But on its own, it is not really that interesting to me. It has red and blue fruits, some Asian spices, but the finish is on the sweeter side and the complexity is lacking.

Definitely had an interesting flavor profile on the palate. Dark fruit, tar, earth and very well balanced. Enjoyable now and not sure how much further this will really improve. Medium bodied.

Little impromptu London Offline (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Lovely - technicolor albeit with the trademark backbone of acidity which makes ridge so special among Californian wineries. Would I know it was a Syrah? Possibly. Clearly a well put together wine of quality but hard to distinguish...

The nose is black fruit and spice with cedar. A rich, balanced full bodied blend with bright acidity and jammy black and red fruits. Notes of chocolate and real spice. A powerful wine and a little hot at 14.7%. The finish is 20 seconds plus. Medium tannins. Good today with hearty food, it may mellow some with more age.

Leaning sweet and modern with baking spices, smoke, orange peel, vanilla. Would not have guessed Ridge on this one. A little broad and sweet for them. Not bad, but not my favorite Ridge bottling. Fine tannins.

Palate and general fatigue was setting in by the time this was opened. But it impressed with its pure fruit and fine balance.

Great color. Needs air to open. Nice spice but, like so many Ridge wines, lacking intensity, depth and acidity. Enjoyed with beef tenderloin.

Drinking beautifully, smooth and balanced, won't get better than this. Too bad it was my last bottle.

A nice, but not exciting, Grenache and Syrah blend from California. Light red fruits, with a slightly sweet finish that is rather simple.
