Served blind, guessed Brunello Sangiovese due to a sweetish finish, great nose, a bottle that was opened on Tuesday & half bottle kept til today, still very big but finesse, really typical of the 2010 vintage, great fruits, complexity, depth but will benefit from more age, best after 2028

Slight problem with cork, ruby color, soft tannins, seamless and lingering flavors of cherry, oak. Fully opened after about 30 minutes. Perfect with both pasta and duck. One of my favorite brunellos

Wines Before / At / After a Passover Seder (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Small glass. Sweet black and red cherry, maturing faster than I might expect for wine at this level, with lots of leather and forest floor already through. Lots here to enjoy, with good weight and nuance coming through, but best to enjoy by 2030.

Tasted at winery. Truly remarkable wine. Best Brunello I tasted during my Tuscany trip. Well balanced, lots of fruits on the palate, good acidity and soft tannins. Long finish. Drinking beautifully now.

Excellent , give it an hour and it opens up with balanced fruit, mushrooms and a clear feel. Been looking around for a good Italian for 9 month and I might have just found it. I think its in a good spot now but might evolve over next 5 years. If you have it don't be afraid to open up quite enjoyable!

my note from 2020 says "open and giving" (or similar), this has shut down a bit, the material / body is there but hiding a bit behind some significant structure... I noticed all three notes of others from 2021 and 2022 mention 'time needed'... I agree... I have two more on the way, and I plan on putting them down for 7-10 years, NR for this tasting, but I think 93 pt pot'l again in the future (my score from 2020 was 92 pts)

Ruby red color. Raspberry, red currant, wet tobacco leaves, sweet floral notes, cranberry and orange peel. Light, bright palate with some tartness and chalky tannins. Earth floor begins to show along with saddle leather as the wine opens up.
p.s. stuffed cornish game hens with asparagus

A solid 93. My prior tasting notes/ reviews were done when I was new in the wine world. This wine has a big tannic structure and lots more to give in the future. It may have been more open and fruit forward in its youth but now it stuck between primary and secondary maturation. It’s not shut down but I am more optimistic for future. 93-96. Hold

very nice Brunello (but for me its not -- as some other notes seem to imply -- up there with Soldera, for example... found this very nice, easy-going drink but also with some decent oomph / pleasing fruit, like many Sangiovese wines this will please the crowd for sure, and also please the wino's, like many '10's it has some structure but not as much as many other "outstanding" vintages, therefore ready now and should be at this level for 10 more years (but not 25)

Fantastisk bred, dyp og intens aroma med preg av kirsebær, kirsebærstein, sur-søt frukt, lakris, tobakk, voks, røyk og I munn er den fyldig med høy konsentrasjon, kraftig og balansert med stor lengde.

Nose of black fruits, red fruits, strawberry cake, peppers. Tasted black fruits, mint leaves, incense, tobacco, soil. Nice, long mint finish. Rounded and nice mouthfeel. This needs more time but the foundations are there. Hold

This wine keeps getting better and better. After an hour decant this wine is full of wet earth and cheery with a long finish. As far as I am concerned this is as good as it gets with brunello from the best vintage of the last 20 years. Will only get better with age. Drink or hold.
Another outstanding showing for this wine! Decanted for 4 hours before first sip. Intoxicating aromas can be detected from the glass 5 feet away. This wine lets it’s presence be known. Hard to describe the complexity of this wine that will emerge with even more bottle age. Tanins are present but smooth enough to be enjoyed now. Hard to imagine a better brunello. Drink or hold.
2.5 hour decant then poured back into the bottle and brought to dinner. Tons of complexity with a long finish. I can tell that there are also let notes hidden in background that will come out with age. So hard to resist now. If someone can tell me a better Brunello please let me know. My favorite Brunello and Italian wine so far.

Simply amazing. Had it at dinner with friends after a short decant. It was full of life, fruit and complexity with very little air. Stone fruit notes and extremely complex body with a very long finish. I cannot find any faults in this wine and I enjoyed every second of it so I am giving this wine a perfect score. It’s by far the best Italian wine I have had so far and in my top 5 wines of all time.

Tuscan Tasting (Zachy's DC): Amazing nose of tangy red fruits, rose petals, rhubarb, pepper, soy. Velvety but structured, zesty but rich, waves of red and hints of black fruit along with cigar shop, incense sticks, roses, tilled soil. The mouthfeel on this is just so amazing, despite the complexity of flavors and total deliciousness, the elegance and balance of this wine makes it next level excellent.

I find this to be too young and not very expressive at this stage. Clearly has good bones, but needs more time.

Outstanding brunello. I see this touching 99-100 with some age. Opened nicely with some decanter time. James sucking called this one correctly at 99.
