Holding up nicely. Lots of secondary notes. Wet earth, smoke with hints of red fruited notes. With air hints of lavender emerge. Palate is pretty seamless with flavors of earth, brazil nuts and black tea are wrapped around a zesty, mineral finish.

Bright ruby color. Deeply cherry fruited with some oak accents. Full bodied and velvety. Much more complete on the finish than the last bottle. A nice punch of Cote de Beaune. Should drink nicely for the next 5 to 7 years. I like it. (91)

Gorgeous nose that marries pure Pinot fruit with a spicy oat accent. The wine starts out warm and full on the palate but unfortunately ends on a bitter note. There is a lot to like but the wine does not seem complete. (88)

Moist forest floor. On song straight away, but benefits from a couple of hours air. Spicy, mineral, harmonious, soft red fruit and a very pleasurable long finish. It's in the zone right now, I would say. vg+

Classic mature Volnay. All the edges rounded off... ample fruit without sacrificing elegance. Delicious.
