Aromas of fresh berries, cranberries, raspberry, violet, new wood, spice box, with a trace of cattle range.
Structured and concentrated on the palate. Med pls tannin, body, and acidity. Red fruit, milk chocolate, graphite, pencil lead, cedar, mint. Lasting and chewy aftertaste.
This is not Margaux that I know. It's modern for sure but it's still very much a Bordeaux. Very much drinkable now with 2 hours of air. It will probably age well too with that tannin and acidity structure. But this is not Margaux despite what is said on the label .... 89+

Third wine in flight three for the Bordeaux Master's Class at Heart's Delight with all wines from Margaux.
Medium ruby red with a dark core. Honestly, was very surprised with this. Seemed more New World over Old World. Tons of sweet spices, loaded dark juicy berries, and definitely some oaky influence as well. Balanced acidity and heavy tannins (7/10). Light red fruit like red currants on the palate with some stoney and woody characteristics. Medium plus body with a long finish. Definitely a baby and needs some time to hopefully improve. Drink till 2035.

Decidedly modern in style, but it all works beautifully here. Seductive notes of cassis, black cherries, spicy oak, crushed flowers and some dark chocolate. It's medium-full bodied, dense and extracted but not heavy, has medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin that feels very soft. Very good length. A seductive, sexy Lascombes that combines a more extracted modern style with beautiful silkiness and freshness.

Medium bodied, with an oaky component that adds roundness and fat to the black cherry filled wine, but there is also a lot of espresso, and smoke at the moment.

UGC TASTING San Francisco Vintage 2014, nose of black cherry fruit, cigar box, and boysenberry, same on the palate, medium/big body, rich fruit, needs 4 years to peak, very tasty, lovely fruit, touch of soft tannins on a medium/long finish.

UGC Bordeaux (Drake Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Black plum and spice aromas with complex notes. Similar flavors and well textures. Moderate weight and length, but very good overall. 89-91 point potential for the medium-term.

Tasted next to 2014 Labégorce. The oak is quite dominant on the nose at this stage. Ripe notes of fruit as well as spices, flowers. Fresh and bright on the palate with good grip, not too much depth. Spicy, persistent finish. 90-91+

En Primeur Bdx. 2014 tasting event, tasting pour, short note. Nose shows smoked sausages, lots of smoked wood and coal, licorice, heavy fruitiness, touch alcohol and oak spices. Palate shows mainly red berries with newly cut oak, a bit hot from alcohol, but rather soft with a somewhat short and dry finish. Too much obtrusive oak present for my taste, and right now out of balance and finesse. Maybe & hopefully time will somewhat straighten things out, but again, a wine that comes forward as very modern and a bit manipulated, Don’t know about this one, after all, need to keep in mind that this is a tasting sample of an unfinished product … (87 – 89?)

Coffee beans, anise, oak and dark cherries fill the nose but in the mouth, a strong oaky edge distracts from the licorice and ripe plum finish. 89-91 Pts

This is an overpriced table wine. Will not purchase again.
Nice rich ruby color. Still plenty of tannins (medium plus).
Flat palette initially. Subtlety raspberry, red currant notes coming through but not refined.
Unexciting finish. Falls short.
Tannins softened nicely after 30 minutes in the glass / decanter. But the nose died off from nice red fruits to nothing.
Lot of sediment for a wine this young.
