Really going quite nicely now. Decanted for around seven hours in a closed top decanter and still consumed over two evenings. No lack of depth. Seems to hold well and will probably improve.

Returning to this after the richer and more alcoholic 2015, I appreciate its leaner but still hedonistic fruit, its greater minerality and its more reasonable alcohol (13.5% vs 14.5%) which combine to give a fresher and more elegant effect. Very good.

This is already deeper and better integrated than the bottle a few months ago. More backbone I think than 2012 and it should give pleasure over the next 5 years at least. Good.

Since 2000, I have enjoyed many vintages of this wine made in the eastern part of the Entre-Deux-Mers area from Merlot 70%, Cabernet Franc 10% and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a reliably good ringer for a lesser Saint-Émilion GC and represents remarkable QPR at <€10. This bottle of 2014, like the 2012 at a similar age, is not yet firing on all cylinders but is already good. It is medium bodied with bright berry fruit, some depth, fresh acidity and tannic backbone but not so rich, integrated and velvety as it will hopefully become in a year or so.

Medium bodied, fruity, soft textured, ripe, black cherry, espresso and licorice accents and a round, fruit filled finish. The wine was made from a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is perfect for current, near term drinking.

Harmonic, smooth and juicy and overall fresh. Cherries and diverse mineralic content in nose and mouth. Burgundy-style ! Still a bit young and early for such a "small" chateau (decanting necessary). A wonderful wine with a very pleasant pricing :)

70% Merlot. Healthy plummy smell while decanting. Three hour wait. Basic primary nose. Good density, body and extraction on the palate. Finish is okay too. This is a bit generic and tangy in its youth but it does have some 'punch' and potential personality. I finished half a bottle with ease and pleasure.

My best bottle so far. More hedonism is now coming through but there is enough structure and acidity for balance to avoid cloying. Good+.

Simple and charming nose. Solid body too. Dry on the finish. A nice fresh uncomplicated wine. 88-89 at peak. This paired well with pan-fried mackerel.
