Opened for two hours. Has durif-level durability in that it tastes very young despite its 12 years (although it does have screwcap to make it even longer). Still quite closed on the nose with some molasses and figs. Intense meaty, dark-berried mouth but elegant at the same time. Long carbon paper and licorice finish. I think this will improve even more but can't be sure. Note: No sediment, which means it was overfiltered and will limit any further development.

Teroldego is an ancient grape variety, and has been cultivated in Italy for hundreds of years. Several theories abound about the variety's name, including that it is derived from Tiroldola, another historic variety. It has also been suggested that the name is the Italian form of "golden Tyrol", based on the status its wines achieved throughout Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries.
DNA testing has revealed that Teroldego is a parent of Lagrein, and a sibling of Dureza, a parent of Syrah. It is possibly also related to Pinot Noir.
Colour dense inky black impenetrable deep red , bright red edges 15/15 Nose med+ intensity ripe bluish-black fruit, dark cherry , blueberry just turned soil and a whiff of purple flowers violet , fresh and bright 28/30 Palate full bodied juicy ripe fruit wild cherry, crushed raspberry, plums , boysenberries white pepper , liquorice chocolate soft mouthfeel, finish is long and dusty drying Italian tannins 40/44 Overall , it’s like a Shiraz but not , certainly showing no signs of ageing for 7 yo I like it 9/11

Quite different to last bottle tasted. Much darker, more tannin and intensity, but quite good nonetheless
