Great to drink now. Structure has been perfected. Find the aromas of pencil lead, tea and mighty dark fruit in this vintage not quit as intense and delicious as I remember them from other vintages though.

Scent of plum, black currant and oak. On the palate dark beeries like plum and black currant. The tannins were quite chewey and I liked the combination with oak in a long finish.

From glass. Nose of bright dark fruit - cassis, some dusty veg; alcohol, too. But the alcohol was the predictor of the palate, which was tart, but not unpleasantly so. Radish, cassis, almost a cab franc flavor profile - but higher acid, sharper alcohol, more tannic, overall a bit more octane. Good, restrained; simple. Could be summer wine.

Vinosphere (Town Hall, Sydney): polished oak, vanilla, even slight caramel, spiced plums, blackcurrant . Extremely young, fruit and even the oak are the velvet wrapping a positively iron tannic fist. Really quite yum.
