Dark inky color, huge, intense, full bodied - thick chewy tongue-coating black fruits - blackberry, cassis, black raspberry, ripe plum finishing with essence of blueberry, blackberry liquor, glycerin and touch of smoke. Became more approachable as it was opened longer and had time to soften and settle.

A great big wine that softened and improved greatly with a bit of time in the glass. Dark, almost black color with black fruit notes and a bit of oak. Medium finish. This wine is big enough to take on strong food flavors including mustard, catsup and tomato sauce based food. Should improve over the next two years.

Always one of my favorite $25 Petite Sirah. This deep, dark wine has tons of personality and depth for the price. Purple teeth and an interesting finish await you.

Deep color. Big nose. Dense fruit. Caramel. A little chalk. Big mouth feel. Dry and fruity. Nice tannins. Well balanced. I like this wine. Great red wine.

This was opened by a friend but it was not decanted. Dark fruit and spice notes on the nose. Some dark fruit, leaning on the jammy side, with big tannins clamping down on the finish. Decanting this would have helped quite a bit.

Restaurant bottle. Opened and poured. I have ordered this wine several times at restaurants as it is usually a great value. This is the first time for the '04 vintage. As previously tasted, the color is inky dark, the nose has a rich bouquet of dark fruit, and the taste is quite intense. The hard edge not uncommon to Petite Sirah just did not have a chance to mellow, as the restaurant didn't even have a decanter to put it in. I would expect that the wine would have been a 90 if given at least an hour of air.

Opened and decanted. This is black, with just a bit of purple at the rim. Fantastic aromas of dark fruit fill the room immediately. After being decanted for about an hour, the first glasses were poured. Blackberries, cassis and blueberry liqueur aromas. This wine coats the glass as you swirl - will probably stain the glasses too! Almost syrupy, with bluberry jam, dark fruit and glycerin. Domino's favorite pairing with the barbeque.
As compared to the 2003, this doesn't quite have the same structure, and is more 'jammy'. Still a beastly wine, just a point or two off the '03.

Still rich, fruit-forward and seriously tooth-staining. Holding up very well.

Very dark, inky and tar-like fruit. Dry finish but long and silky. Excellent flavor and rich texture. Good with the chocolate cake
