WWC - NJH1122 (Fort Worth Club): Tasted blind - A bit of a muted nose, but honey and stone fruit, with some white fruit/apple; a taste of well aged champagne, without bubbles. Good, though not as good or lively as the Aubert before it. Guessed either a 2009 chardonnay, or a central coast Rhone-style white.

Deep golden color but not oxidized. Nose initially full of lemongrass and apple. Quickly muted. Palate still rich with lemon, apple pomegranate and butter. Drink within the next year or two. Definitely not too old to drink, but I wouldn't wait too much longer.

Just opened a bottle of this wine with some trepidation because of its age but I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the wine tasted! It has aged well, still carrying hints of oak with a lovely finish. The wine is a golden color now, as I had expected. Still a good bit of life left in this wine!

14.9% ABV. Fresh candied pineapple aromas. Medium gold color. Some honied notes to the fringes. On the palate, some snappiness. Maybe some of that machine oil note found in Hanzell Estate Chard. Oak is receded, but still has a little circus peanut note to the finish. Really holding on very nicely.

Toasty oak and butter, butterscotch and almond notes; balanced like you would expect from Pahlmeyer; usually love the age on these, but agree the fading fruit keeps this wine from usual classic level

golden straw color. Aromas of lemon, flowers, and, straw. Medium weight , but not built to last. Fruit has fallen off and is slightly oxidized. Short to medium length on finish. Drink up before its too late!

Pineapple, lemon, and butter in the nose, very creamy smooth butterly palate with lemon, grapefruit and a little toast. Very different that the Kistler tasted, however a delight to drink. Six years old, holding but i would drink up.

Nice solid enjoyable California Chard with the sweet taste of brown sugar, tropical fruit and toasted oak. A tamed down version of an Aubert that lacks just a bit on the nose and palate. This one runs the risk of diminishing fruit over the next 2-3 years though.

Purchased off the wine list for $120 at The Waterfront restaurant in Ma'alea Harbor, Maui. Always wanted to try a Pahlmeyer chard and this did not disappoint. Nose of toasted butternut squash and jasmine blossoms. Lithe and spritely. Light-bodied but powerful. Green apple and lemon flavors with a heatlhy but well proportioned dose of new oak imparting a toffee note. Ample acidity to cut through the various cream sauces used in our entrees. Impressive chard.

Shared this our friend over a long weekend of dinners and wine. They have not tried this producer and I cannot seem to stop drinking this wine. Everytime I have it, I cannot wait until I drink it again. This is a bigger California Chardonnay with balanced oak, nice tropical fruits on the palate, great finish and an oily smaooth texture in your mouth. If I had patients, this wine would last longer. I will buy more.

Impressive Chardonnay, yet still young and a bit tight. Nice balance with the fruit and the acidity and held together with noticeable oak, but not over powering. I believe this wine will last 6-8 years, but it does improve when it has been open for more time. Can drink now or hold. GREAT bottle!!!

Take my rating with a grain of salt as I don't have a lot of experience with CA chards. Still this might be one of my favorites behind the Aubert chards. It is rich and buttery with tropical fruit aromas and flavors with some mineral notes lurking underneath.

Delicious! A very rich, creamy chardonnay that has a nice mouthfeel. Flavors of pear, fig, apple and hazelnut. The wine carries the alcohol well at this stage, but should improve over time.

Napa/Sonoma Events; 8/2/2006-8/5/2006 (Various Venues): Excellent chardonnay, with complex fruit and great extraction and prominent oak, carries a lot of alcohol but mouthfeel is round and balanced, long finish. Needs some bottle time

Drunk with cheeses and appetizers that could tend to overwhelm a chardonnay, but it held its own. Copious oak on the nose and palate. Deep and concentrated aroma. Very rich wine; strong notes of vanilla, oak, butter. Seems likely to age nicely over next 3-5 years, but excellent now.

Layered flavors and a wonderful finish that reminds me of fresh Hawaiian pineapple. One of the finest Napa Chards that I have tasted and priced accordingly.
