Almost a light red. Very nuanced wine with great fruit, light bodied red or full bodied rose, balance, structure, acidity, carries its hefty 15.9% alcohol well, refreshing and very pleasing.

Beautiful rose which seems to have mollified its exuberant youth and now has smooth edges in all areas. Dark for a rose with nose of strawberries and red fruit. Dry but not overly so. Light bodied red or full bodied rose. Enough acid, but not picante. Perfect with grilled shrimp.

I have to admit that I found this wine terribly unappealing. I am a general fan of the producer.....but not this wine. I was excited because many described it as a Rose that drinks like a red wine. I did not think so. I felt like it drank like a liquour or something similar. Oh well....now I know.

Well...almost 3 years later...the nose and palate are as before, still gorgeous and exotic...showing a vibrant youth...BUT...that gosh darn alc burn is more prevalent than before. DOUBLE Strawberry martini...disjointed and edgy. Doesn't kill the wine...i'm prob a little more sensitive to the heat than most...but it does distract. Shame...as the pretty Rhone flavors and aromas are to die for!

Enjoyed much more than the last bottle a year ago. Dark pink/light red. Lots of red fruit, spices, hints of vanilla and maybe even dirty garage rags (in a good way). Full on the palate, but reasonably clean on the finish, reasonable acidity holding it together.

Cranberry-juice red. Great nose of strawberries and dry brush, bit of smoky complexity. Big for a rosé with lots of ripe fruit but remarkably fresh and light for the alcohol it carries. Excellent.

Misc US Rhone wines (Palaegade): This is an outrageous wine. Extremely dense for a rose and packed with sweet raspberry fruit. Very intense but the alcohol is dominating. In any case, this is really a fun and very interesting and fun wine. A rare treat to taste it :-)

Hides the alcohol well; in fact comes together better when it slightly warms up from cellar temp. Lots of strawberry, a little bit of herbal notes, a bit heavy (could use some more acidity).

Ruby pink color, slight haze, and brilliant hue. Smells are barnyard, rose, strawberry, raspberry, and provencial herbs. Tastes are sea salt, herbs, strawberry, and nice wieght and lengthy finish, complex.

Very similar to the last bottle of this I had, sexy mouthfeel, strawberry and cream with subtle cooking spices, the alcohol was a lot more noticeable this time around, it got better with air, but I think this really needs some time to shake off it's edges.

Monday at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): My first SQN rose and I enjoyed it far more than I would have thought. First of all, this was labeled as 15.9%, but it felt about 3% lower - all of us were shocked at the ABV given how the wine tasted. The fruit was pretty rich and concentrated and it would have been better if there was more acidity.

Generous dinner host provided this for pre-dinner enjoyment. Served at 55 degrees.
Certainly a huge rose. Drinks more like a red. Fruit shows strawberry and cranberry. Heavy on the palate. Finish is big, and alcohol (15.9%) shows. Not for the faint of heart.

Drank this poolside. A Rose' with an attitude. 50% Grenache, 25% Mouvedre, 12.5% Syrah and 12.5% Petite Sirah. 15.9% alcohol. Deep red pink color. Creamy nose with vanilla and strawberries. Notes of smokey red fruit and elderberries. A touch of heat on the finish. Full bodied wine. 93 points

Best Rose from SQN I've had, massive alcohol but covered up fairly well with just a hint of it on the finish. Crazy sexy and silky smooth mouthfeel, strawberry, cream, subtle cooking spices and a nice long balanced finish. Really good!

50% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, 12.5% Syrah, 12.5% Petite Sirah….open in bottle for an hour and a half…..PRETTY brilliant rose color….GORGEOUS nose of smoke, strawberry fields, crushed cherries, dusty exotic wood spice…..exotic nose…reminds me of a young Vosne Romanee! Definitely big for a Rose..but I've seen bigger……the flavors from the nose translate to the palate….very bright and crunchy acidity…tart and sour….awakens the richness. Not the perfect of balance though….15.9 alc comes through a little strawberry martini-ish…but not too too much heat. The Rhone varietals add some interesting flavors….smoked underbrush, stem funk, garrigue, spice box, dried roses…..definitely a spice and heat kick on the finish! A Rose to drink and ponder with each sip like a red…..tasty…..and just so dog gone FUN!
What a treat, I always compare M's Rosé to Burgundy, its better than most, and other Rosés don't compare. Rich on the palate, big dollop of fruit, some smoke and mirrors.

WX+ Meetup (Urbanbelly Wicker Park - Chicago, IL): Big and bold. Very meaty with some cured meat, saline and fresh herbs on the nose.
Palate was massive but was fun to try.
