Experience consistent with previous tasting note. As soon as you pop this wine, the nose is just so fragrant and beautiful. Just an amazing bottle of wine.

Decanted for an hour and followed over an additional three. Everything you want in a Rutherford Cabernet; cassis, macerated red cherry, dusty tannins, and a lovely cigar box note on the finish that became more prominent as the evening wore on.

Cherries, blackberries, cassis on nose and palate. Smooth in the mouth. Long finish. This is an elegant wine that, at this point, only needs a little air. Have always found these wines as consistently good.

Decanted two hours. Already good at pnp. But after 2 hours, wow! Just singing. So much going on.
Nose: Ripe red fruit, baking spice, a touch of earthiness and funk Palate: ripe raspberry, tangy cherry, touch of blackberry, finish goes on and on and on for 30 seconds. As it got more air, cranberry notes interwoven with the other flavors.
This is a well made wine in a more restrained style, but done so well. Wow. Just great stuff.

Dark and dense. Needed a couple hours in the decanter. After opening up a bit, the nose shows sweet red fruits, pencil shavings, and chocolate.
This completely coats the palate with black current, blackberry, cassis, and cherry. The finish is full and long. I like that this isn’t just a huge fruit bomb.
This is a little more refined than the Stagecoach Vineyard bottling. Not as aromatic out of the gate. It needs a little time to open. Once it does its brilliant. Red fruits, leather and a bare hint of graphite. This one needs some time despite the smooth tannins. Next in 2021 or later to see how it develops. Will also decant the next.

Napa Trip 2017; 7/23/2017-7/24/2017 (Calistoga, CA): Definitely the most complete package of the JEC lineup. This has a velvety smooth texture. I get cherry, cassis, and blackberry along with chocolate and expresso notes. There is tons of stuffing here, but it is still approachable and delicious right now. Fantastic wine!

Needs two hours - before that, it feels a little simple. But then it's elegant and amazing as always.

Spectacular cab that paired perfectly with grilled NY strips. Decanted 2.5 hours. Will be wonderful for the next decade.

Opened and decanted for our 33rd anniversary. Lovely wine. Great color and nose, with a long finish.
