Berserker Offline (Mathilde Bistro - SF): Over the hill. Butter baked apples on the nose. A bit fresher on the palate, with good acid and weight. Still drinkable, but not much more to recommend it. 84

Mature medium-gold color. Slightly oxidative nose of butterscotch, almond and browned butter, with the faint aroma of honeydew melon. Any concerns about premox (given the susceptibility of wines in this vintage) were quickly assuaged with the first sip. The palate is, as Remington Norman put it, "rich and round without any trace of heaviness." Ripe citrus fruit and the subtle flavor of Mezcal transition into still fresh acidity and a lingering stony finish. Excellent Meursault from the largest owner of this Premier Cru, this wine had every delightful characteristic commonly associated with mature white Burgundy. Drink up!

Last of this from my cellar -- still showing beautifully. Good fruit, good body -- all of the nutty, oaky qualities of a rich Meursault. However, just a *hint* of oxidation starting to come on.

Clearly past its prime. Not sure if this is "premoxed" or just oxidized / too old.

Really nice showing. Beautiful minerality and elegant structure still showing; Still a lot of life left in this wine.
